Player Discussion Marco Rossi

2 years takes him through Spurgeon and Hartman. 3 years takes him through Foligno, Trenin, Gaudreau and Brodin.

$6M-$6.5M on a bridge is essentially a guarantee that we could bring Boeser in if we were inclined.

Id be all over a bridge under $7M. 3Y/$20M seems very fair. Wild get flexibility in the short-term and Rossi gets chance to earn a huge long term extension when he is in his prime.

Not sure how much Boeser would be asking for in this scenario, but anything approaching $7.5-8M would be tight.

Tried to look this up from previous posts, but did not notice it being mentioned: Rossi seems to be the fastest forward on the team based on the Edge. Though Trenin appears to have the most speed bursts.

I can't imagine a world where Rossi is our fastest forward, and Trenin is a slug. The data is wrong.

I mean this list doesn't look that bad, still has Trenin close to the top which honestly feels kinda wrong if you watch Trenin lug his feet around day in day out. But maybe his straight line speed going in on the forecheck is not the worst after all? It's the one of the (few) things he really isn't bad at.

I've been watching Trenin skate and he looks like a clunky caveman doing it, but I've also noticed him moving pretty fast and getting to pucks in time. I think his skating style deceives the eye a bit.

Marat and Johansson are clearly our fastest skaters, with Kap a tad behind them.

Is Danny Briere a good comparison to Rossi? Someone on the mainboard posted his name and it stuck to my mind. Briere was undersized, a decent 2-way center and had a fairly good carreer. Really loved to watch him on the Sabres, the last time they were legit. That remembers me how old I'm getting.

Also if you'd rerank that 2020 entry draft today, on which spot would Marco land in your opinion? Top5?
