Marchand to A Cup Contender

Bruins are not receiving elite potential prospects and young players. Think along the lines of what other aging UFAs bring: 1st and B prospect.

Depending on his play on the Four Nations tournament, he could be the most coveted and best player available at the trade deadline. If there is a bidding I can absolutely see a team willing to give up a elite prospect for Marchand.

I want Washington to trade for him. Put him on a line with PLD and Tom Wilson to make the most hated forward line in HF history.

Jokes aside, Washington is a team that would probably be in on him.

What would trade for him?

Probably not, but they should.

They should probably trade Pasta then, too. He is turning 29 this season. By the time anyone from a Marchand trade is able to contribute, Pasta will be out of the years where you could arguably say he could be the best player on a Cup winning team.

The Bruins should be trying to compete for the next 2-3 years. They have a roster full of 28-30 year olds on long term deals. They can't rebuild right now. In a few more years when all there guys at the end of their prime start getting to the wrong side of it, yeah, its going to be some tough times in Boston.

No need to accelerate that. They need some scoring talent. But needing a couple pieces doesn't mean you should blow it up and now need all the pieces.

I think there will be a ton of teams lined up for his services. He's still valuable to playoff teams around the league. I would love to have him in Ottawa if we can get into the playoffs, even if its short term.
