You know the shit was going to hit the fan with Skinner. It's not fair to him, his role should be a rookie backup unfortunately we need to ride him as our No.1, because we DO NOT have a No.1

It's worse than that. He's not just the #1. He doesn't have a backup. That is insane pressure for a rookie goalie - especially one whose goalie coach is widely regarded as a joke. This could have been better handled by giving Skinner the net last year when he looked good. If they saw promise, they could have gone for a solid backup on a short term deal rather than 5 years on a high-cap gamble.

And they could have tried to upgrade on Schwartz.
