Damn, Manchester losing their captain. Always thought he might eventually be our 4C and take over Fraser but I guess he had to eventually move on if there was never room for him. He wasn't healthy last year. I'm sure Manchester will miss his veteran leadership.

I believe this actually benefits the Kings. More ice time in Manch for Vey, Shore, and Weal/Andy (whichever plays center).

I don't know about you guys, but there's a part of me that's very happy, when our prospects gets claimed off waivers. Especially, when they have no legitimate shot at making the kings roster.

Every AHL players' dream is to play in the NHL. And even if it means losing an asset, why not be happy for them that their dream has come true?

Best of luck to you MAC!

Glad to see that Cliché is getting an opportunity. He has certainly paid his dues and was a good captain for the Monarchs. When you have a good scouting department, you can't keep them all, especially the 3rd and 4th line guys.

Good luck Cliche

More than 6 years in the Kings organization. Time goes quickly. He's been around since Lombardi's first year as GM. Quite the roller coaster ride since then.

6 years, and 1 NHL game. Always nice to keep a captain around, and I'm sure the Kings didn't want to lose him, but that's why the NHLPA fights for the rules they do. Guys want their chance, and at this point it seems like it was never going to happen with the Kings for Cliche.

Does this mean that Kozun cannot be claimed now? I thought it was hockey where if you lose one player to waivers it automatically protects the rest (if you waive more than one at a time) or am I thinking of the expansion draft?

That would be the expansion draft. Anyone who goes through waivers can be claimed, there's no limitations for claims, so long as the team putting in the claim has a roster spot open.

Doesn't he have to stay with Colorado ? Won't he have to be waived again to be send
down ?
