Yes agreed. I am overstating of course. But there have been a few plays that were makeable, expecially for him and he kinda just let them pass. He is still on point defensively and since others are scoring, it matters little tonight.

I don’t really get it, it’s an average 1C game. Win faceoffs, cycle, get shots, get pucks to teammates, pick up some phantom assists. Even when the Hart/Richard stuff isn’t clicking, he’s easily our most reliable player managing the puck, especially his outlets in the D-zone. I feel like if you told Leaf fans in 2010 that we’re gonna have a 1C where on his off-nights we’re getting basically a shoot-first prime Getzlaf they would have passed out on the spot.

I agree with you. He hasn’t had a standout game, but he’s been totally fine.
Replace Robertson and Holmberg with 2 guys at the deadline. And then add another dman and we'll be in an excellent position.
