[TOR/PHI] Dmytro Timashov, Eemeli Rasanen, 2020 2nd for Radko Gudas

[TOR/ARZ] Nikita Zaitsev, Martins Dzierkals, 2021 2nd for a 2020 5th

[TOR/MTL] 2019 4th (STL) for Charles Hudon

Waive Justin Holl

•Leafs get a DFD to compliment Gardiner, give up two B prospects and a 2nd - I feel that this price is fair, but could quite easily be beat, willing to include different prospects
•Leafs pay to dump Zaitsev, re-gain a 5th, which they lost in the Hutchinson trade
•Leafs acquire Hudon for the rumoured ask, he is used as an extra for the year with the hopes that he can contribute next season when guys depart

You could probably get Hudon for cheaper than that.

Doubt anyone touches Zaitsev.

Yes on acquiring Gudas....i doubt anyone takes Zaitsev, and Hudon is waiver fodder.

Not that any of the deals are particularly bad value, but I don't like the idea of being so thin on picks for the next 3 years for basically a year and a bit of Gudas. It's not minor enough to not matter, but it's not "all-in" enough to really put us over the top.

A pick for Hudon doesn't seem worthwhile for the Leafs. They have forward depth, and if they need more, just bring up Trevor Moore.

Decent value for Gudas, but after already burning this year's first they may be shy about trading more picks.

I have a feeling there are GMs out there that still value Zaitsev. I think they can move him without incurring a loss.

We could probably get a Top 90 pick back in one of the next 3 years for Brown and I'm sure we can find other ways to get some picks back as well. I am not worried about the quantity of picks we will have, we just might be a bit short on 2nd's. I have faith in management finding quality players through rounds 3-7.

Considering what his value is likely to be in a trade i would much prefer to keep Rasanen and hope he develops into a serviceable NHL d-man.
His attributes are in desperately short supply throughout the organization.

Calling Timashov and Rasanen "B" prospects is quite generous, to say the least. Just offer a late 2nd + 2 3rds for Gudas and call it a day... Would need to offset his salary somehow, however.

Don't see how the Coyotes takes a 5 years horrible contract for a late 2nd and a failed ECHLer drafted in 2015.

Pysyk (FLA) 1 year left @ $2.73 million, retained to $2 million

2019 2nd + Borgman or 2020 2nd + Rosen
Toronto can't take on more salary for 2019/2020 before shadding vastly more. Florida would have to take a contract like Brown as well.

Figured you could flip Pysyk and Brown in separate deals at the draft. Kind of a rental that you can use for playoffs this year and recoup some value in off-season? No use for Brown tbh.

These are fair proposals.

IMEO (In My Elite Opinion) TOR doesn't necessarily need to move Zaitsev at the TDL. Gudas can be added as depth. One can be a healthy scratch of the other plays / fits well.

All bad trade proposals for the Leafs.
