The only thing Chicago has outside of bedard that really makes sense is probably Levshunov 1-1 or maybe vlasic+.

I mean Kaiser is a 22 yr old LD who has been solid for Hawks and looks every bit the part of an NHL 4-6 going forward

This year

47 GP
4 G
3 A
7 pts
-2
18:01 TOI

Problem for Hawks (A good problem to have) is our D is fully jammed when it comes to kids

- 23 yr old LD Alex Vlasic (Established NHL top 4)
- 23 yr old RD Louis Crevier (Showing NHL quality play this year trying to establish himself)
- 22 yr old LD Ethan Del Mastro (AHL all-star last year, Looks good in NHL this year)
- 21 yr old LD Nolan Allan (Looked good first half of year, Coaching change saw him playing less and is back in AHL)
- 20 yr old LD Kevin Korchinski (Looked improved in brief callup this year, AHL all-star this year)
- 19 yr old RD Arytom Levshunov (Looks promising, seems lock to be on NHL roster to start next year)

Buffalo has

LD Samuelson drated 2018 (25 to start 25/26)
Dshlin is another KD but can pl as y as a RD

Buffalo does not need LD

In their prospect pool they have a few RD in NCAAs right now.

They are looking for a mid pair RD who can play in nhl who is s around 22-24.

Slaggert is just an energy 3rd/4th liner at best type who could have potential to be 20-30 pt guy down line. Nothing amazing but someone most likely to stick around NHL for longtime

Buffalo doesnt need those players. With their F t pi ster next year they likely nerd to move someone

Xxx-Kulich -Thompson
Zucker-Norris-Tuch
Greenway-McLeod-xxx
Malenstyn-Kozak- lafferty
Krebs

XXX can be Peterka, quinn, benson, rosen
In the farm/ prospects they have a few others
if you add an extended Marner, sure.
Chicago owns Toronto #1 pick in 2025

I wou li d not touch Marner with a 10 ft pole

Is this a fair price to pay?
Hypothetical lets say Buffalo jumps Blackhawks in Lottery and gets #2 and Blackhawks get #3 or #4. What would it take to get #2? Chicago 2025 1st, Toronto 20251st, Florida 2026 1st, Slaggert or Ethan Del Maestro?>> no idea what it would take justy throwing it out there

I doubt they will trade DelMastro , Kaiser is questionable as well.

Serious question: Why do you think at this point 15 years into their rebuild Buffalo needs a bunch of quantity pieces? Only way they are moving that pick is if there is a hockey deal out there for a top 4 RD or top 6 center with term IMO
the proposal is a joke but this is still the main reason why the trade doesnt work

Bedard.

the only way that gets moved is if Chicago offers there 2026 1st. unprotected assuming we don't move up this year. I suppose if you could add 3 of Misa hagens frondell. in this case we pick second. and give up a unprotected 2026 buff might consider it stronger draft. chicago is slighlty better this year and will be the same next but that is true with most of the bottom teams. hawks could get 10 more pts but still be 3-4 from bottom.

Depends on who goes 1st. Buffalo isnt taking the LD, I see them trading down 1-2 picks if the LD is at #2.

Buffalo wouldnt be looking to col lo ect pickd in 25. It likely costs stuff in 26 or 27. They dealt their 2nd in 26 already.

Is this a fair price

Nope. 1st rounder will be after 25 and the players are questionable prospects.

Sabres are looking at a top 5 pick and what is being offered does not move the dial much for buffalo. Sabres need help now and both players right now are looking like support staff and 3rd liners

This is an example of over valuing picks
Leafs pick would be 25 today.
Dallas 2nd 63 hawks 34. Neither the two players are considered top prospects.
The sabres never do this deal. The trade their first for a top 3 fwd or top d man.

Sabres have lots of prospects

At the 2022 draft, the Sharks traded the 12th overall pick for 27, 34, and 45. The picks being offered to Buffalo in this proposal are relatively similar, which begs the question: Do you think Kaiser or Slaggart make up the difference in value between the 12th pick, and a probable top 5 pick?
