Actually yea exactly like they folded last night. If Andersen doesn't make several big cross crease saves in the final minute they blow that lead.
So McBackup not making big saves in a period where we were the better team makes us soft? The two aren't related at all.

The time we signed Moore I just fine with that but now I realize how big Boyle was - we should have signed him instead, I know he was looking for term

That's a big loss and the team is missing him big time - no comparison between him and Moore
Money was better spent paying part of Marleau's salary.

Man this team stinks lately. There isn't a lot of desperation on the ice, some decent efforts here and there but nothing consistent.

Also, wtf is our breakout exactly. All I ever see if hard of the glass/boards and hope there is someone there. This team has most of its success when attacking with speed through the neutral zone. There is no cohesiveness between our d and forwards as far as puck movement goes.

Its frustrating to watch, because I know we are better... that being said, I am not sure either of those 2 shots be Andersen so it's all taken with a grain of salt so far.

Sigh, I will pour another Bud and see if I can enjoy the 2nd a little more.

When Mathews isn't scoring the problems always either Nylander or Marner. Joke.

Last year I watched every minute of every game.....live or tape.......win or lose it was exciting..
This year it just isn't the same for me..
I don't want to put all the blame on Hyman and Bozak, but I'm tired of watching them...and I'm tired of babcock's lineups and choices..
You're supposed to support your team no matter what, but it's getting difficult to watch this...at least for me..
Nothing says I'm not into it anymore like posting on a message board :)

Rielly's gap control is still terrible after all these years. Easily the biggest flaw in his game, ironically, given his skating ability.

What was he hoping to accomplish against Ovechkin? Back up all the way into the crease and play goalie himself?

Damn. Third place and this guy is finding it difficult to stay on board lol

Do you remember the historic late season collapse of 2011-12?
Or the historic late season collapse of 2013-14?

At this stage of the season, it's critical that we consistently play well. The points will come if we consistently play well. If we keep getting outplayed, it will catch up to us and we will be on the path to another historic late season collapse.

We played a lot closer to our potential in the first than the score shows. Breakouts were pretty good, had speed through the neutral zone and maintained possession of the puck instead of dump and chase + turnovers. Play every period like that and the results will be good more often than not.

The leafs are in third place out of 31 teams. Jesus Murphy.

Some of our players are slumping and the lines are being juggled a bit.

You're really this upset that our 3rd place team of elite young stars is trying out some different lines?

It's strange. These gdt's don't seem any happier than those horrible dark times over the past 12 years when we were amongst the worst teams in the entire league without even our first round picks.

I feel like the leafs have been bad at stopping other teams star players for like 15 years now. Spanning like 5 coaches and GM's.

Ovechkin is now pretty much a goal per game in his career against Toronto.
Well yeah, but it's not just the Leafs. The reason they're stars is they are tough to stop.
It's just more noticible to you as Leaf fan watching Leaf games
