Dream scenario would be for the Habs to sneak into the playoffs and go against Toronto in round 1.
And yet again crush their souls in 7 games.

I responded to a Buffalo fan making a joke about the Sabres, making another joke that was still topic adjacent, at worst. That would have been the end of it, but you took yourself way too seriously and decided to call me out for some reason. That's literally the only reason I'm still here. Had you just ignored my joke and moved on, you could have spent all of this time gazing into your crystal ball and discussing whatever juice you think you can see with people that actually want to participate in your thought exercise.

Don't quote me and I won't.
Why make posts that don’t add to the thread in anyway then?

Edm takes out Nucks in round 1
Edm takes out Jets in round 2
Edm takes out Avs in round 3
Edm wins cup against Toronto

Leaving no doubt who the big dog in Canada is.lol

As others have said, a Stanley Cup Final involving Toronto and Edmonton would break this site and probably the hockey world.

Consequently, if my team (Montreal) is not part of this dream scenario, Toronto vs Edmonton at the end would be my biggest wish.

I'd also love matchups that we don't get to see very often in the playoffs or the obvious rivalries from the past.

To the OP, you should have clarified if this bracket could only use the teams currently in a playoffs position.

I'd love to see a Leafs/Habs 1st round tilt, just for the butt clenching that would be happening in Toronto. Montreal would have absolutely no pressure whatsoever, it would be all on the leafs. The idea of Montreal possibly knocking out Toronto again in the first brings me so much pleasure. :)

It would probably not happen and the leafs would more than likely win, but just the sweat and anxiety in Toronto of a possible upset loss to the Habs would be great.

Map out a playoff bracket based on what you think would make the best matchups for each round. If you want to hype your favourite team then that's fine but really try and think from a neutral perspective what what make for great matchups each round.

ROUND 1
1 TORONTO vs WC2 OTTAWA
2 WASHINGTON vs WC1 CAROLINA
A2 FLORIDA vs A3 TAMPA
M2 NEW JERSEY vs M3 NEW YORK R

1 WINNIPEG vs WC2 MINNESOTA
2 EDMONTON vs WC1 CALGARY
C2 DALLAS vs C3 COLORADO
P2 LAS VEGAS vs P3 LOS ANGELES

ROUND 2
A1 TORONTO vs A2 FLORIDA
M1 WASHINGTON vs M2 NEW YORK R

C1 WINNIPEG vs C2 COLORADO
P1 EDMONTON vs P2 LAS VEGAS

ROUND 3
A1 TORONTO vs M1 WASHINGTON

C1 WINNIPEG vs P1 LAS VEGAS

FINALS
E1 WASHINGTON vs W1 LAS VEGAS

WINNER
WASHINGTON CAPITALS

-----

2018 Cup Finals rematch with the same result. Old man Ovi breaks Gretzky's record this year and wins his 2nd cup against the villainous Vegas Golden Knights.
And Logan Thompson gets his revenge

My ideal Final 4 in terms of teams I like.

West
VGK Vs CGY > VGK - CAR < CAR Vs WSH/CBJ

Vegas Wins!

Would dream of an all Canadian Conference final. Would be amazing knowing Canada gets the cup no matter the outcome.

Toronto vs Ottawa
Calgary vs Edmonton.
Pretty sure the earth would stop spinning or the sun would explode

I was going to be more prescriptive with guidelines but figured I would leave it up to people to decide. Ultimately most people aren’t even doing it anyway and only filling out a path for their team which is super lot the point so it doesn’t really matter anyway

If either Columbus, Montreal or Ottawa takes the matching wildcard spot I foretell that Toronto will tank from first in the Atlantic and fall to second to draw Tampa in the first round instead.

The Leafs took on both Columbus and Montreal and lost previously. The Leafs know that Ottawa is a hungrier and more motivated team. Lots of pathways to failure for the Leafs, and no real good avenue for success.

I'm including the potential conference rankings to show (once again) how stupid this format is.

R1:

3. EDM vs 6. COL
4. VGK vs 7 LA

1. WPG vs 8. STL
2. DAL vs 5. MIN

1. WSH vs 8. NYR
5. CAR vs 6. NJ

2. FLA vs 7. OTT
3. TOR vs 4. TB

R2:

4. VGK vs 6. COL
2. DAL vs 8. STL

5. CAR vs 8. NYR
2. FLA vs 4. TB

R3:

2. DAL vs 4. VGK
2. FLA vs 8. NYR

R4:

2. FLA vs 4. VGK

Avoids heavy matchups in rd 1 like FLA/TB & COL/VGK, potential Tkachuk Bowl in rd 1, LA loses to someone different, Edmonton actually has to play a legit contender in rd 1, Binnington makes Hellebuyck his bitch again, Miller and Shesterkin carry the Rags through a shitty Metro division, two very good round 2 matchups (FLA/TB & VGK/COL), and a beauty of a SCF rematch.
Thought I'd revive this after the trade deadline. I really hope we can avoid big first round matchups DAL/COL and FLA/TB. Hopefully Dallas runs down Winnipeg, and Florida holds the Atlantic.

R1

1. DAL vs 8. CGY
2. WPG vs 4. COL

3. VGK vs 6. MIN
5. EDM vs 7. LA

1. WSH vs 8. NYR
4. CAR vs 6. NJ

2. FLA vs 7. OTT
3. TOR vs 5. TB

R2

1. DAL vs 4. COL
3. VGK vs 5. EDM

4. CAR vs 8. NYR
2. FLA vs 5. TB

R3

2. FLA vs 8. NYR
3. VGK vs 4. COL

R4

2. FLA vs 4. COL

Washington/Ottawa
Florida/Toronto
Tampa/Montreal
Carolina vs, Whoever

Jets/Canucks
Dallas/Colorado
Edmonton/Calgary
Vegas/Kings

Considering Habs aren't making play offs.

Oilers win Cup over Panthers.

Leafs out in first round to who ever's turn it is this year.
( preferably Sens)
