I think we all look at the players and the talent they have and think they need to do better regardless of coaches. Coaching isn't the only thing to blame, but I definitely think this is a positive step.

Don’t know anything about the new guy but he has to be an improvement over Manny. We should have a top 5 PP in the league with the talent that we have.

We've upgraded from a 17 year NHL vet with 36 career power points (12g 24a) in nearly 1000 games to coach who hasn't been part of a power play since he was in 3rd Division NCAA. What could possibly go wrong?

You don't think Carberry has been involved with a powerplay on any of the teams he's been involved with during his rise through the coaching ranks?

The AHL has team pp stats and his results for the last 3 season have been kind of poor although his clubs were successful. It doesn't look like he had a ton of offensive guns to work with so maybe not a big deal. At least it will be a different look.

Usually when a new sucka pp coach comes in, he only does thangs that are not that suprising. Its not like these new sucka coaches take the star players off the powerplay. So that is our WINNING! Now tavares will ALWAYS take the faceoff and then be on the first unit! WE ROCK THE HOCKEY WORLD! HARD SIRE!

A bomb from the point was missing and that is why TOR 0-125 on the PP? I always thought TOR's issue on the PP was it was so damn predictable: give Matthews his cookies.

It's predictable because they have nothing on the point.

Once teams start clamping down defensively around January or February this PP is extremely easy to cover. Really only Matthews is a threat to shoot and he basically does the same two moves every time. Marner and Reilly only look to pass. And then you have Tavares or Nylander around the net being boxed out.

They will likely look good in October and November when teams don't play defense properly.

I think they are trying to appease fans and give fans some faint hope that things will be better next year

Should have just fired him. He was very incompetent his role and there’s not a lot from his playing days that would suggest he’s a power play specialist.
