Alfie from HITC 7s just compared Ratcliffe to Javier Milei in his latest short documentary about United which made me laugh out loud on the street haha

Say what you want about Oil state owned clubs but even they wouldn't be so heartless to increase disabled parking spot prices to what is now 70 higher than the second worst club in this category (Aston Villa). As long as those disabled fans didn't dare criticize the sheikhs, of course.

Two things are true:

1.) The Glazers ownership over the last 2 decades has been horrific and they've looted hundreds of millions from the club and simultaneously saddled them with hundreds of millions more in debt and interest payments.
2.) Ratcliffe and his team have come in and made several really poor decision that have exacerbated or, at the very least, failed to address those standing issues.

Not really sure what can do about those. Sir Jim has invested the max amount that he's allowed to due to stock market rules. :dunno:

A start would be not extending a manager 3 months before sacking him, not pursuing expensive transfer targets with his input when he's on a knife's edge of being fired, not going after an executive for a large fee that you fire a few months later, or other similar things.

Those all cost United far more than his stupid savings will recover and only exacerbate the underlying financial issues.

Other than the Ashworth firing thing, other people made those decisions and you know that. He is not personally involved in those matters. I don't understand why people insist he's the one making all the sporting decisions when there's Brailsford, Berrada and Wilcox in charge of those?

Also:

a- The club can't be sold by the Glazers up till December (could be June, 18 months from purchase day) unless of course to INEOS
b- Afterwards the Glazers can sell (and push INEOS out with them) but INEOS has a first option if they want to match the bid

So the club is basically being held hostage by the Glazers, at least until December. Sir Jim can't invest more into the club unless the Glazers sell more share which doesn't seem to be happening in the near future.

Could also have sold Garnacho for what was being offered, not bought Dorgu this window, etc...

It’s doesn’t matter if he personally made the decisions or not, he hired all of the new people that did. So either he’s incompetent or he hired people who are incompetent…which still means he’s incompetent.

Remind me how much they paid for Dorgu? Anyone who ever watched a modicum of Serie A could have told you he was years away from being able to play (especially left back) for the Wolves of the world, let alone a team with once European aspirations.

Haha, that’s funny thinking United have European aspirations this year

He's actually been good so far, apart from the mishap with Onana and the red card. Even between those he looked good.
