Yeah not sure how a 3-4-3 works for United right now... I mean CB wise we should be fine with who we have. Dalot probably looks fine at RWB as would Shaw the 9 games we get out of him. But I just really don't know what happens with the attack. Seeing what Amorim has done with Gyokeres makes me excited for Hojlund, but formation wise it does throw a wrench in things for Garnacho, Rashford etc a little bit.Part of me doesn’t think Amorim should take the job, but I can’t see how he wouldn’t. I just don’t think his formation with Sporting will work at United right now.
I think it is. It's still one of the biggest clubs in England, and historically one of the biggest in the world. I think, as others have noted, it's been a series of strange hirings and general mismanagement that has us even discussing this. With some stability above, and a good manager, United can still be a powerhouse.Looking at the managers they've landed since ferguson...is it?
I would absolutely love to see Antony as a wing back. Probably won’t work but he puts in defensive work and better than Lindelof at LWB.Yeah not sure how a 3-4-3 works for United right now... I mean he literally couldn’t be worse there than at LW/RW.I would absolutely love to see Antony as a wing back. Probably won’t work but he puts in defensive work and better than Lindelof at LWB.

It's all based on repertoire nowadays. They don't have the money due to FFP because of EtH, so they are limited in what they can spend. Not only that, but most of the players they have bought have been players who didn't play a big part on their past clubs. The only buys they made for quality players were Antony (at the time) and Hojlund (You could add Zirkzee if you want). Most of the "biggest clubs in England" are only pushed by the narrative of older sports journalists who saw them win everything in the late 90s. Sure they are the biggest club in Manchester, but that is getting often overshadowed by Liverpool's continued success in the overall region, the rise of Plastic City, and all the London clubs' success. Matters are made worse with a bounceback by Chelsea this season. With a successful manager, however, they can be pushed back into the "legendary biggest clubs" category quite easily, but now they are simply Spurs 2.0.I think it is. Yea it's a pretty low bar to clear.I mean he literally couldn’t be worse there than at LW/RW.
Nah. Amorim is good. This is a good hire. United will bankroll the over haul he’ll need. He’ll be fine. Won’t always look pretty and they will need to (lol) give him time. But this is a good hire.Welcome to Manchester United, Villas Boas 2.0
I'm guessing there will be some decent growing pains adjusting to the system, but as long as theres an actual system and tactics in place I feel like those growing pains will be accepted.Nah. Yeah I mean the first thing he will do is get United organized and start setting up his identity. Which is fine. I actually think they have some good players for that system, but I think they have a lot of players that aren’t too. But that’s not going to get fixed immeasurably either. I think the defense gets better. I don’t think we are going to see a ton more goals.I'm guessing there will be some decent growing pains adjusting to the system, but as long as theres an actual system and tactics in place I feel like those growing pains will be accepted.
Yeah, this is definitely a good hire. Amorim will at least have a plan, which I thought was ten Hag's biggest downfall. However, I wouldn't classify this as a great hire. Ruben reminds me a bit of Ange where he's really stubborn in how he wants to play and he won't deviate from that style (it's a good style though).Nah. Amorim is good. This is a good hire. Honestly I have no idea why Amorim is taking the job right now, but he’s clearly has a bad agent. My big question is why United didn’t hire him this summer

My entire point wasn't to compare the two in talent, it was that they are both stubborn individuals in their tactics. I agree overall, Ruben is better than Ange, but there is a caveat to that. Amorim has better overall structure, but nobody is beating Ange and his offensive flair.Ruben is better than Angie
Wow, actually quite appreciative of him. I thought they would go full Scot and do death threats.
Also rumors that Amorim would be the first "head coach" in United history.
Well one older fan cried:Wow, actually quite appreciative of him. I thought they would go full Scot and do death threats.
