In short, yes.So they’re Kloppwashing
The world needs laughter! I want to see how low he can go.As someone who was adamant that he should be given more of a chance , this start is unacceptable and he needs to go
Tuchel to England lol.
Truly a missed opportunityIdk I was available had they asked
You also have some awful players in key positions and archaic ways of thinking that’s embedded into the English game.A fresh approach is welcome. We have some great players, just needs to have someone find the right combination to finally win something.
This is a pretty enormous exaggeration. England has two weak positions: left back and keeper (the latter of which hasn't been a problem until recently, because Pickford had been regularly really good for England even when in bad form at club level). You also have some awful players in key positions and archaic ways of thinking that’s embedded into the English game.
I said key position not LB, where you can have someone who just solid and not a liability. GK and CB they incredibly weak you have Maguire who's a joke and an often injured Stones who is good on the ball but hardly someone who can lead the line. This is a pretty enormous exaggeration. England has two weak positions: left back and keeper (the latter of which hasn't been a problem until recently, because Pickford had been regularly really good for England even when in bad form at club level).
Here are the starting left-backs for the most recent World Cup and Euro winners:
Spain 24: Cucurella
Argentina 22: Tagliafico
Italy 21: Emerson Palmieri
France 18: Lucas Hernandez
Portugal 16: Guerreiro
Germany 14: Howedes
Spain 12: Alba
Spain 10: Capdevila
I spy, with my little eye, a lot of utility men and swiss-army knives! England's main issue has been that their two good LBs haven't been able to string together more than 5 fit matches. Otherwise, Shaw and Chilwell are the equal of anyone on this list except for Jordi Alba ca. 2012. It has definitely been a problem, but I don't necessarily see why (if they play an actual winger on the left, which given that Tuchel is smarter than Southgate I think they will) a Colwill or Branthwaite at LB would be a problem.
It is indisputably true that almost all of the recent major tournament winners have had a world-class keeper in fantastic form. Casillas --> Neuer --> Patricio (tournament of his life) --> Lloris --> Donnarumma. But Pickford has not been a problem for England at tournaments. He has been in recent matches, and I imagine Tuchel will give a chance to Henderson and Ramsdale to win the starting spot.
At least he can't get transfers wrong !
So he might be a great choice !
When you look at the options out there, he is probably the best of the bunch. If Pep was an option (don't think he was) I would have given him whatever he wanted to take the job.
On a personal note, I am saddened that my $5 bet for Carsley to be next permanent manager is a loss.
Maguire hasn't been first choice for a while...I feel like you know this but it's not convenient for your point.I said key position not LB, where you can have someone who just solid and not a liability. GK and CB they incredibly weak you have Maguire who's a joke and an often injured Stones who is good on the ball but hardly someone who can lead the line.
