So they’re Kloppwashing
In short, yes.
But in Germany, RB Leipzig will remain the same (the most hated club in Germany), but Klopp's image and popularity will suffer.

Outside of Germany, people either don't know or don't care about the whole RasenBallsport BS.

Tuchel may be just as cynical as Southgate, but he is a much better tactician. Curious to see how he does with a NT because I felt like he was always bad at assessing talent and many of the guys he'd bang the drum for where some of the worst buys his clubs would make...whether at Dortmund, PSG, or Chelsea...

So I wonder if team selection will be a problem for Tuchel's england. But this is a serious hire as long as the english press doesn't get to nationalistic about it and TT takes the job seriously. Which I think he will...unlike Capello.

A recalcitrant German in charge of England. What could go wrong?

When you look at the options out there, he is probably the best of the bunch. If Pep was an option (don't think he was) I would have given him whatever he wanted to take the job.

On a personal note, I am saddened that my $5 bet for Carsley to be next permanent manager is a loss.

It's never easy to know how a club manager will transition to NT work, but I'd say the odds of this going extremely well are solid. This is a guy who is really good at cups and whose teams play to the level of their opponents - what you want to win tournaments.

England have a bunch of players who I think could fit Tuchel like a glove, it's hard to even guess what he'll identify as the set-up. Main thoughts off top of head are that:

1. Trent is not his kind of wingback, but very conceivably could be his kind of CM
2. Bellingham likely deeper than he recently has been for England
3. Gallagher and Tuchel is a match made in heaven
4. Colwill and Stones will likely keep being the main CB pairing. If he moves to a three, I wouldn't be surprised if it's Tomori
5. Would not shock me to see Pickford dropped
6. Dwight McNeil might finally get an England call-up

If I were an England fan (I'm not), I'd be excited because Tuchel is not the kind of manager to give a shred of a shit over media pressure surrounding selection.

You also have some awful players in key positions and archaic ways of thinking that’s embedded into the English game.
This is a pretty enormous exaggeration. England has two weak positions: left back and keeper (the latter of which hasn't been a problem until recently, because Pickford had been regularly really good for England even when in bad form at club level).

Here are the starting left-backs for the most recent World Cup and Euro winners:

Spain 24: Cucurella
Argentina 22: Tagliafico
Italy 21: Emerson Palmieri
France 18: Lucas Hernandez
Portugal 16: Guerreiro
Germany 14: Howedes
Spain 12: Alba
Spain 10: Capdevila

I spy, with my little eye, a lot of utility men and swiss-army knives! England's main issue has been that their two good LBs haven't been able to string together more than 5 fit matches. Otherwise, Shaw and Chilwell are the equal of anyone on this list except for Jordi Alba ca. 2012. It has definitely been a problem, but I don't necessarily see why (if they play an actual winger on the left, which given that Tuchel is smarter than Southgate I think they will) a Colwill or Branthwaite at LB would be a problem.

It is indisputably true that almost all of the recent major tournament winners have had a world-class keeper in fantastic form. Casillas --> Neuer --> Patricio (tournament of his life) --> Lloris --> Donnarumma. But Pickford has not been a problem for England at tournaments. He has been in recent matches, and I imagine Tuchel will give a chance to Henderson and Ramsdale to win the starting spot.

I said key position not LB, where you can have someone who just solid and not a liability. GK and CB they incredibly weak you have Maguire who's a joke and an often injured Stones who is good on the ball but hardly someone who can lead the line.

The problem isn't that TT isn't an excellent tactician. It's that ever since Pep sonned him back in their BuLi days he has become exceedingly cynical and that was Southgate's biggest problem. They needed a strategic shift, but unless Tuchel recaptures the bravado of his youth, that ain't happening.

I appreciate the english hoping we'll teach them how to win, but it's not working well with Harry and I don't think it'll work much better with the NT :sarcasm:

Speculation is that City will target Amorim if Pep does decide not to renew. Hugo Viana taking over for Txiki Begiristain and mentoring with him beforehand has fed this.

Maguire hasn't been first choice for a while...I feel like you know this but it's not convenient for your point.
