Management Thread | Rebuild.

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
Yes. I’d just prefer to wait a couple of months so he can up his trade value before we move him.
Would be nice to get some value for guys. Vs seeing Van move Mik and Dickinson and give up 2nds to get rid of them.

Lets see in MP can right the ship and get back a solid return. With the cap the way it is, contract wise both Hronek and MP can be very valuable.

I'd like to see him under a proper head coach tbh. Only Hronek didn't look like dogshit least season.

I agree. He was just so so under Tocchet IIRC. I agree that they need to keep him and hope Manny helps turn his game around and get back to what he was in Pitt. Can then unload him near the TDL for a good return.
Going to see more sticker shock over the summer with more signings.

If they don't explore trading Hronek, it doesn't give me a lot of hope for a proper rebuild. But also not surprised in the slightest that they are afraid to blow it up.

What are you talking about? They have traded 4 core players, and are looking to trade possibly 2 more… like what are you looking for?

Yeah cause they want to keep him around as a mentor, which I don’t mind.
They should try to move M Petey
They take the call when they get one. But, they are not shopping him. He holds a NMC.

M Petey value on the lower end side. I don't envision prices dropping given how thin the top half of NHL talent is these days on many rosters. So many teams in search of a top 4 Dman or 2C. A lot of middle of the pack teams need one of those.

They have been hired for how long?

Plus again the TEAM got a lot done last year.
I understand standards for this team have fallen dramatically over the last 13 years or so, but it doesn't hurt to have high expectations for new mgmt.

Allvin/Rutherford made those trades. I don't give any credit to new mgmt for those deals. I will judge them on their own moves or lack thereof.

There are some high prices being paid in the current market due to free agency being a dud this year and I really hope they have the foresight to capitalize on it.

If they don't do anything by or on draft day, it'll be really disappointing.
By trade deadline is my arbitrary deadline. Maybe they view the 2027/2028 drafts as being deeper and maybe rolling the dice on another team’s pick that could end up being higher rather than a guaranteed late 1st this draft. I can appreciate the strategy in waiting, but this market is really great for sellers so it could obviously backfire.

You haven’t even given them expectations… like I get if nothing happens by the start of next season. But you are angry and upset for nothing at this point… it would be like me getting angry at you if you hadn’t replied to this in ten minutes… like give them some time for something to happen.

I am not even a huge fan of this management…

What indicator did I give that I'm angry?

Frustrated and expecting to be disappointed would be better descriptors.

Look at the Byram trade. Buyers are paying insane value right now.

It would be negligent at this point if they didn't garner interest on Hronek.

As I stated in a different post, if they haven't done anything to add draft captial by the end of the draft when they should be one of the top sellers based on the current state of the team, I'd be extremely disapppinted.

I'm on the "only trade Hronek for a king's ransom" boat but Byram got an absolutely stupid return... it might be the right time to do it.
Walsh will probably be a pain in the ass to deal with. I think Hronek really likes it here and doesn't have the desire to win in his prime like some North American players.

As much as I'd love to see him moved for a haul it also requires the player to accept the trade you put infront of him. I'm not holding my breath that we will be able to move him right now.

To be fair you're probably not going to find a team that values Hronek like Chicago valued Byram.
not a lot of sellers of Dmen. The talk of Houston/Austin expansion in light of the trade action we are seeing shows how thin nhl talent is.

Massive lack of top 2C and top 4 D.

Yzerman wants players back for Larkin. Not happening in a direct trade. Needs to do what Ott just did. Get futures and find another selling team to sell you a roster player.

Chi doesn’t seem ready to turn it around overnight. Want some time.

At this point RJ should put in a call to the agents of his guys and tell them there is inquiry on them. Need lists if they have just a mntc. If full ntc or nmc ask if they have a list in mind or tell them who is calling for their client.

Need to have that info before spending time aka parayko trade that fell through.
