What kind of return you thinking for Mittelstadt?Any interest in Swayman or Middlestadt?
It just doesn't make sense from Utah's POVI've been advocating exactly this deal for WEEKS on the Sabres forum.
Maybe a 2nd? It's hard to gauge his valueWhat kind of return you thinking for Mittelstadt?
I'd certainly be open to a 2nd this year or next year or an equivalent prospectMaybe a 2nd? It's hard to gauge his value

Either a 2nd or 3rd line center who's above 50% on the dot with around 2 years on the contractWhat does Utah need?
The GM has already been giving the "green light", ever since Smith bought them. Predicting that the Mammoth will officially announce the naming when they use the 4th OA @ the draft.Media words their rumours to give them an out if it doesn't come to pass. Keeps their reputation intact as a source.
Utah has assets to trade, that's more than likely the route they will take. So, their GM should be given the green light to take on salary/cap.

I'm curious as to why not? Utah gets their young top 6 player and still gets to find a kesserling replacement at 9.It just doesn't make sense from Utah's POV
They need a long-term solution at center with the 4OV - not just a young top 6 player. Winger isn't really an area of need and they've got some good prospects in the pipeline on either side.I'm curious as to why not? Utah gets their young top 6 player and still gets to find a kesserling replacement at 9.
According to Chris Johnston, Utah is looking to be active in free agency but are unlikely to be the one to give out a massive contract to one player, with the implication that they were referring to MarnerI have to figure Utah goes after Marner pretty hard in UFA. They've got the $ to do so, and landing a superstar would be huge for the franchise.
You could get Duchene for nothing except $$$ which would be less than Sequin. The good news for Utah is that first line is solid, Schmaltz is a fine 2nd liner, and theyve got 3 legit top 4 D.
The bad news is theyve still got 4 very valuable pieces to find to become a legit contender. A high end 2C that as you say moves Hayton and McBain down the lineup. A higher end top 4 D man that pushes one of Maatta/Cole out of the lineup. A goalie better than Vejmelka. And a 2nd line LW that either gets Kerfoot out/into the bottom 6 and/or moves Macceli/Crouse out.
I've said it before, Seguin would be such a nice piece for them if he'd waive. When healthy he's still a damn near point per game C. While he may not be worth his cap hit anymore Utah wouldnt care for the year or two he has left. He'd fill a hole and provide some great leadership for a younger team. Would solve a big problem for Dallas too.
