The Jets missing the playoffs 14 seasons in a row was far easier to accomplish: fewer teams make the NFL playoffs and the vast majority of that time was when the Pats were still a dynasty so WC was the only route. What the Pegula Sabres have accomplished is beyond comprehension in terms of failure.

What's up with that guy? Has regressed so incredibly hard. On pace for his worst year since being a rookie.

Early last season he was getting pissy at the end of another trouncing of the Sabres and impulsively picked a fight with Hathaway on the Flyers, who proceeded to absolutely wreck him. He has not been the same since.

They've been through how many coaches the last 14 years? At some point you're going to have to look at something else than just a coaching change.

It all starts from the very top. If the owner is ok with losing, then that mentality will trickle down all the way through the entire organization.

Realistically I don’t see it with roster they have and the inability for their young players to improve which has gotta have something to do with the culture there. Only way they’d maybe the playoffs is if one of their goalies went on a absolute heater.

I mean center depth is a critical part of any team at both ends of the ice. When a team is as consistently poor as Ottawa that reflects on every area of the team….

Trade one of Power or Dahlin in a player for player trade, preferably for a forward. Package one of their good young forwards, a higher end prospect (or a similar rookie or 2nd year player), and a 1st for the best forward you can get. Get a new coach. Unironically some hardass like Torts might be what they need

We've traded our 1C four times. ROR, Reinhart, Eichel and Mittelstadt. So trade Thompson, what could go wrong?
