Thanks for the memories kid. Thanks for being more than a hockey player. Thanks for being a top-class, selfless, caring person that touched countless lives. Thanks for practical jokes. Thanks for your contributions to the Cups. Just Thanks for being you.

The Flower....

As much hate as this guy got, he's arguably a top 5 goalie of all-time.

He's definitely the best goalie in Penguins franchise history. 3 Stanley Cups, 2nd most wins all-time, 5-time all-star. He's definitely up there in my opinion with Brodeur, Roy, and Hasek.

Despite some rough playoff performances in the early 2010s, Flower was still a huge part of 3 cup runs. 22 years as an NHL goalie is a hell of an accomplishment. Also probably the last goalie that will ever go 1st overall. Hope he enjoys retirement.

I doubt I'll ever see another goalie match his games played or wins numbers. His peak wasn't great, but his longevity was exceptional. I don't blame Rutherford at all, but in hindsight he should have traded away Murray for a big return and kept Fleury back in 2017.

Wrong. No. Absolutely not.

MAF won one Stanley Cup.

He’s a complier.

I don’t think he is even top five of the cap era.

Lundqvist, Luongo, Price, Rask are clearly ahead of him.

Then you get into the arguments like Holtby, Vokoun, Bishop, and others.

MAF is Cujo with a Cup ring. Great guy and a good goalie, but all timer is a joke.

I think he's overrated, but his longevity gets him into the HOF.

Top-5 all-time? Are you insane?

Fleury had a remarkable career. He certainly didn't do my blood pressure any favors over the years, but he was an immensely entertaining player to watch, and ultimately, my memories of his contributions to the cup runs in 2009 and 2017 drastically outweigh the bad stuff. He's a franchise legend: one of the all-time great Penguins, and frankly - considering his career longevity - one of the all-time great goalies in league history.

Yeah but compilers get into the Hall. Just look at Recchi.

Yeah, some people have some serious ticks about what a goalie has to be to be considered a winner.

Like some of the perceived best have no cups at all.

Fleury was "good enough" to win. They hate that fact because, he was considered just an above average goaltender.
