MacKinnon or Landeskog?

If Avs didn't have a captain right now, who would you give the C to?

Went with Mack. But Landy is a good choice too, and you can’t undo it.

Being the best player doesn't mean he should be the captain of course, I just think MacK would be more of a vocal and prove on the ice type captain and a better choice.

McDavid
Crosby
MacKinnon

Following that trend of best centers and captains

Yeah, Landy. I still think they gave it to him a bit too early, but that may not have been their intention. Hejduk was clearly not comfortable in the role and took the C off after only one season. Regardless, it's on the right jersey at present, no question whatsoever, as are the A's.

Go watch MacKinnon flip out against Bednar and watch Landeskog during the same video. Should answer your question.

A captain is someone who holds a middle ground between the coach and the players, in my opinion he should put his heart and soul out on the ice and be willing to do anything for the good of the team. That is Landeskog to a T. He seems to be very well liked by teammates, coaches, the community and fans.

MacKinnon is great, but he can be to much of a hot head at times.

I'm not posting this video to highlight MacKinnon's actions, but Landeskog's. Mack is my favorite player in the NHL but Landy is the perfect captain for this club right now and going forward.

I know a lot of people here don't like BSN and AJ specifically, but last summer AJ spent ~ 15 minutes on a podcast detailing the things he's personally seen Landeskog doing in that locker room and around the team. It really gives you a new found respect for Landy. I'll have to see if I can dig it up.

Baberiel Landeskog is all the captain we would ever need.
