MacKinnon, how?

It is an anomaly, but i think he will have a dip after 30 going down to "normal"
levels, next season 110p max, next around 100p and rest of career around 90

Nobody who watched MacKinnon play at age 15 or 16 would be surprised he'd one day become one of the best few players in the NHL, and indeed one of the best offensive talents ever.

He always had the powerful and explosive skating, and the great stickhandling, and an exceptional niftyness.

What he lacked was a refined game. Some players have a very refined game at a young age. MacKinnon had all the ingredients needed, he just needed to put it all together, and find greater consistency.

He certainly has fulfilled all his promise. He's reached his full potential, and he actually did so at a pretty young age. He now has a chance to put up some really big career numbers.

His focus on nutrition has helped a lot. Also, he practices with fellow-Haligonians Crosby and Marchand every summer. It's a great opportunity to spend time with some of the hardest workers in the history of hockey. I think it's really benefited MacKinnon.

From his junior days where he was outscored by Drouin in his draft year to his so so first 4 years in NHL where he was solid but look like a "normal" 1st overall pick player in the mold of a Lecavalier, a Stamkos or a Tavares to what he is now is just amazing.
There is nothing wrong with those players but what MacKinnon have turned out to be the last few years is just amazing and have made me a believer.

I know he started to change his diet and mentality, but is that really all it took? I mean you can take 1 step forward doing so, but to break the Avs/Nordique points record kind of great after his NHL start?

He is turning out to be my favorite player to watch in the NHL and Im gonna follow the rest of his career to see if he can break Joe Sakic all time points record for the Avs.
Duchene was traded. Then the Mackattack was released. I'm not sure who that says more about. But losing has followed Duchene for awhile now.
