MacKinnon Doesn't Want OT Increased to 10 Minutes

Oh no, teams will have to play the chuds in overtime to survive. Whatever will they do? (play the chuds)

Those three could make some OT magic if the puck wasn't from Binnington's vicinity to Gustavsson's crest in 4 seconds :laugh:

To be honest that's just poor ice time management. Extend it to10 minutes and it's up to the coaching staff to adjust and properly manage. Personally I loved it, 10 minute 3v3 is fricken awesome.

i chalk it up to not being used to playing with 97. watching him every night i am 75% confident that pass would have come right back to 29 for the GWG

Anyone have a screenshot of it? Watching it live, it felt like good D positioning and 97 backed off too far not really giving 29 the wheelhouse to hit for the onsie.

Or, even better, we should do the opposite.

Maybe if one team leads by only one at the end of regulation, we will force an overtime to give the chance for the other team to catch up.

And maybe in the playoffs, if any game doesn't end with a 2 goal lead, we will force the teams to play multiple OTs, until someone scores. And if the trailing team scores first, then the PO game will end in a tie. And if neither team ends up winning 4 games, then they mutually annihilate, giving the other team in the bracket a by.

No. What you are doing is called a straw man. Fans of many teams are saying Mack trying to beat the entire Swedish team on his own and losing possession of the puck 3 times was selfish. He wanted to be the hero but what he was doing was putting his team at risk. Has nothing to do with who's better. Many players realize you can be more productive by using your teammates. That's it

Just keep it at 5 minutes but if there’s a PP during OT then the game doesn’t end until a goal is scored or the PP expires. Also make the PP a 3 on 2 goals instead of a 4 on 3.

I get the sense that you're perhaps subconsciously, or otherwise deliberately, misunderstanding what he was responding to just so that you can get even more outraged about good decisions he made on the ice that you didn't like on a personal level. LOL

Furthermore, don't you think it's at least somewhat possible his answer was just a little bit tongue in cheek because he was being asked right at the end of a game?
