He's practicing. Should be fine for Game 1, will see if he can go against Pittsburgh to knock the rust off. What’s going on with Thompson? This series could get interesting if he isn’t good to go.

Last year the Jets went into the POs with 8 straight wins including a 7/0 win against Colorado. The Avs destroyed them in 5 games.Habs are 7-1-2 in out last ten, but the common theme is we are some how struggling!
Holy shit, it’s EroCapsCaps in 5. They’re going to bully MTL.
That and perimeter shooting really dries up in the playoffs.Caps in 5. They’re going to bully MTL.
It's gonna be so loud even the Habs will be nervousMontreal home ice is real, it'll be nuts and I can't wait to see it. Good luck to both squads.
Maybe with just bodychecks.Caps in 5. They’re going to bully MTL.
A dumbass kid who loved the Mighty Ducks movies, had a Paul Kariya Teemu Selanne dynamic duo VHS and didn’t realize how tired it would make him as an adult....OK, I gotta know...how in the Blue Hades does an East Coaster become a Ducks fan??...![]()
Habs have been the complete opposite of that, they suck to start and get better as the game goes onMaybe with just bodychecks.
When it comes to fighting, habs have the two toughest players in the series.
That said, the Habs haven't played 60 minutes in a long time, so withstand an attack for 10 minutes and then it's all downhill, or get the lead and hold them off for a bit.
Caps haven't been as sharp lately, but I think thats more with their spot being secure and Ovie having the record.
Montreal is pretty much a one line team.
The main thing the habs can hope for is being competitive in the games should and likely will lose the series which shows the free agents they're an up and coming team and might be able to get better/better depth this offseason.
I think that having almost a week before their next game will be a good reset for MTL. You are right that they where playing on fumes in the last few games. So the rest and mental break can maybe... maybe do the same as the 4 nation break.Habs just happy to be there. Gassed down the stretch and lots of holes. Their time will come but it's not now.
Caps in 5.
They’ve actually driven play much better since the 4 Nations break than they did before it. And that’s without Protas, Carlson, and Chychrun for a few to a handful of games. Their goaltending has just been horrific, which is obviously an issue if it continues. They have actually been playing pretty well though. Were the caps really that bad the last few weeks? Besides that Columbus game on the weekend?
