i said this to someone during the ottawa series when they were like oh no we look too good we're going to lose. - read the room. I'm not going to sit here and fault you for being optimistic. go and be optimistic. whatever. don't come in here and be all. "well fans are revelling in the fact that they lost. I know what I predicted." people don't want to hear that right now.
i've seen several posts from you, that they could have lost 10-1 for all you cared, you predicted the series that they win, great. wonderful but did you watch the game? were you happy with one iota how they played? because while there have been some stinkers in the playoffs, the "Only Had 6 Shots Against NJ" comes STRAIGHT to mind when you have Leaf Fan MEDIA saying this is the most disgusting game they've ever seen, i'm sorry that's when you have to actually take a step back and go. "You know. there might be something wrong."
I am going to sit right here and tell you right now the chances are this team will probably find a way to win on Friday.. they are actually pretty dang good in game sixes going back to the Kessel era. I think something stupid like 12-3 (which is acutally reverse of their game five stats which is abysmal). They could even win game seven. I'l even give you that one.
but what people are furious about - and rightfully so - is the disgusting no show effort they put out at home and the fact that not one of these players have the decency to say 'we sucked, like we are embarassed, and it was disgusting." that the two players that this franchise spent so much money on do not give a flying fig and aren't doing much out there. People rode Kessel for like a whole bunch of crap but at least you knew when the playoffs came around - his 8m dollars fat behind was giving you a PPG, and he was doing everything to make sure the team would win. Can you say that about Matthews and Marner right now? EVER? in their six year playoff career [i'm not going to count their 3 rookie seasons. i'mma gonna be gracious here?]
don't act like this is a typical reaction after a loss here.
