We had several lines hemmed deep, especially in that last period.The line was a fire drill in their own end for 5 or 6 shifts in a row.
Considering what I had seen, Eberle was the pilon on that line. Why not move him? This only raises more questions, without necessarily answering anything.
I think coach wanted to go with a big body on each line as we were losing a lot of puck battles and the momentum. Seems to have worked.
Makes sense, but doesn't answer why Eberle wasn't taken off instead.
I think due to the way Winnipeg was playing they wanted someone who could crash and bang on the line
Same as the quoted above. At least these last two quotes make sense, though. Plus Korpse scored. He seems to get into the slot a bit better. However, it still doesn't answer why Yak over Eberle. Especially when you saw McDavid and Yak feed eachother a few times, with Connor's breakaway and McDavid as the trailer for two big chances.
