His main issue's the speed of the game and he won't learn that in AHL, which is slower than levels he's dominated already. You keep doing the same thing, yet it's mostly irrelevant to the discussion at hand because there has never been an argument about whether he can collect a point in an isolated moment. There's no contest. We all want him to succeed. No one who had a different opinion of you is mad that he scored.
Every time someone tried explaining an exposing point of view about his development, you didn't make any real effort to explain why your point of view makes more sense. It's rather childish. Let's see if he can play a good consistent three period game. He's off to a good start today with the goal.

People were wayyy too critical 15 games into his career. Talk about jumping to conclusions.
Not really alot better than Liiga, what gives and edge for AHL is, that it's similar playstyle as in NHL. (SEL and Liiga having different playstyles and rinksizes are the different makers here)You say that, but I thought Chytil had the same problem last year. He looked like a chicken with his head cut off. He was constantly a step behind the play, but would have some great shifts because he's a great skater, and if he has the puck on his stick, he can make some plays. He went down there to start this season, dominated, came back to the NHL, and looks like he's processing plays much better.
The jump from Liiga to NHL is very big, so it's not unexpected that he's struggled some with processing the speed of the game, but the AHL is also a lot better of a league than Liiga. There is definitely a step up from Liiga to AHL. I think it's enough that a player like Kakko could still dominate game to game.
But let's see how his game develops over the upcoming games. More games like this one and stringing together a stretch of hockey where he's constantly making an impact, and he'll go a long way towards proving he doesn't need a stint in the AHL.
He had a game like this two weeks ago, and then was rather invisible in the games after that.

Just last week we weren't even allowed to mention Kakko in the same breath with his rival player. According to same people, he was also one of the worst players in the league.
Kakko now has more goals than the player who-shall-not-be-named and is only one point behind him in scoring. It's funny how fast these things change.
I was just amazed by Kakko's comeback story.Doesn't matter. No need to discus about that player in this thread or Kakko in his thread.
We had some discussions where we disagreed a lot. But your assesment about Kakko have been good for all of the season. Haven't had time to comment. I disagreed with the AHL comments but you had your point. Whether Kakko produces or not I think he should learn at NHL level he is capable of doing it.This was one of his best games this season. He could've had the game winning assist, but Howden missed a chance in front late in the game off a very nice pass from Kakko. This type of offensive display is what was expected to start the season. It's not even a matter of whether he scores goals or gets points. Sometimes the puck goes in, other times it doesn't. It'll go in about 10-18% of the time, and thats the way it is in the NHL, but being involved in good scoring chances consistently, and not just on the PP, is what we need to see. He had a game like this two weeks ago, and then was rather invisible in the games after that. Let's hope for a good stretch of games from Kakko coming up.
