If not for an early whistle this would have been another assist, though he gets one pretty much next the shift.

And someone did, this is on the PK tonight:

Look at the players he's competing against in that sequence. That's not some AHL fodder out there, that's Kevin Shattenkirk, Ryan McDonagh, Mika Zibanejad, Mats Zucarello and Chris Kreider. He's one on five and they can't get the puck from him. Preseason or not, that's amazing.

Nearly everyone saw this coming based on training camp and pre-season but Bratt officially made the Devils' opening night roster. Crazy how far he's progressed in such as short time.

Impressive player. Still not sure how he slipped to the 6th round.

Always saw him as more of a one dimensional offensive player. Really cool to see him kill penalties in his first NHL game as a teenager. Nice goal too.

To think he was cut from the WJC team last year, he maybe should have make the team in wjc, but still no one saw this comming last year, huge surprise. Most players from first round from that draft do not even start this season in NHL.

Bratt looked pretty good. If he will continue like this, then what a development so fast.

No Devils fan saw this coming either, we had him ranked 17th in our prospect rankings in the summer. Everyone expected him to come to camp, get a skate in, and go spend the season in London to develop, but he was so good that he made the team.

It isn't even that. It isn't like he had a feel good camp where he hustled real hard and is getting a cup of coffee.

Not look like a legit top rookie.
