LW/RW Jackson Blake - Univ. of North Dakota, NCAA (2021, 109th, CAR)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Thanks. Potential Top6 wing in the future? What do you think?
Definitely. He looks really, really good in the ice time that he has. He has very good skill with the puck but is also a pretty tenacious player. He isn't the strongest player but his strength is off-the-charts good for a guy who just turned 21.

It sucks to lose Guentzel, but the exciting part of that is it allows Jackson Blake to make the team, and we'll eventually need his cap space when we are re-signing Jackson.

We should also wait to see how he looks during the dog days of the season. I hope his frame can handle the rigors of 82 games against grown men. I imagine he might lose steam in the back half.

Good for him. I though he wasn't ready physically and could've used another year at UND. Pleasantly surprised to be wrong.

Hope and think he’ll get some time in the top 6 this year. Roslovic has been getting minutes with Aho and Svechnikov and would love to see Blake on that line.

Really good winning puck battles, even better than I expected from him coming out of UND

Elite defensive forward at 21. Takes a team that's already good in their own end and makes them even better.

yeah TBH I wasn't expecting this level of commitment from him on the defensive side of the puck coming out of UND after seeing a few games of his there, or at least not for another year or so. He's bought into Rod's system 100%.

This picture in training camp and his play out of camp got Brind'Amour on board with giving him a roster spot (picture won't load but it's in this article):

Final Thoughts From 2024 Prospects Development Camp | Carolina Hurricanes.

He has listened well to the coaching staff, hustles his arse off and is dependable defensively to go with his offensive skills.

Latest example: last night against the Sharks he backtracked from the goal line to the blue line stopping a clearing pass that ultimately led to the tying goal (didn't get an assist though). Then, he made a great pass to Aho for the winning goal (and had a goal of his own called back due to offside). Great game and continues his progression to become a core Cane.
