Is this the first time an American kid has gone no. 1 in the OHL Priority Selection?
He’s also the sixth American-born player to be selected first overall following Jakob Chychrun (Sarnia, 2014), Alex Galchenyuk (Sarnia, 2010), Rob Schremp (Mississauga, 2002), Patrick O’Sullivan (Mississauga, 2001) and Pat Peake (Detroit, 1990).

When you see the picture of him standing next to UPL, he doesn't look anywhere close to the 6'3" he's listed as.
If UPL is 6'5, the kid looks like he's 6'0 or 6'1. He might have a few inches more to grow after all.
I wonder why he wouldn’t he play for the UNTDP U17 team.
Also, no idea where the idea that Musty is 6'3 came from. He's 6'1, although his dad is probably ~2" taller than him, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him add some more height.
That's what he's listed at on EP.
Also every article pre/post draft, like the below.

Though the OHL site he's listed at 6'1"
Looking forward to the Musty Stankoven line 6 years from now.

This flatout is not accurate. Having said this, it doesn’t really matter - he’s bigger than average for a kid his age.Now he is listed as 6 foot 2 / 203 lbs
He seems off to a good start. I'm just shocked that not only that a top American turned down the USNTDP, but was willing to report to Sudbury. Feel the last situation where a top American reported to a "have not" OHL franchise was Bobby Ryan. Seeing these kids land in London, Windsor or Kitchener isn't surprising, like Stranges a couple years ago. Seeing them reporting to places like Sudbury or North Bay is.Musty wanted to play in the OHL. He had an NTDP offer and would have been a premier player for the program, but he was interested a different path. Nothing wrong with that at all. USAH should want its depth to continue to grow where they can send top players to the WHL, OHL, USHL each year and still be able to build a top NTDP team, too.

It's great for the league though. Now Sudbury just needs a new arena desperately. He seems off to a good start.
