Prish is playing well given his experience level, and draft position.

In regards to Malinski- he did struggle some last night (referencing the video just above), then I remind myself he does not yet have a full season of NHL games under his belt. And he's usually with DeHaan who drags his play down.

His instincts aren't NHL level yet. But his IQ is solid. 400 games in he'll be a league wide keeper if he can mix in 20-30 points.

He's a keeper he plays at 100% each shift . If we didnt have all those injuries, maybe a full year in the AHL would be beneficial for his developmen. But this guy is an NHLer.

Yeah I’ve been very impressed to start. His first game was clearly the best, but he’s been a net positive in every game so far and really pushes his line to being passable. I’m not sure he has it in him to compete the way he has for the whole season, but I think we have an actual NHLer here.

I’ve actually been pretty impressed with his puck skills too. Now I was expecting essentially none, so the bar was low, but he has made some very nice passes and good reads. If he gets that chance to develop offensively, I could truly see a good third liner (or best case second line) player.

He goes all out every single shift and understands where to be on the ice.

It’s that simple.

There probably isn’t much potential there, but enough to carve out a bottom 6 role as an NHLer.

For an overager 7th round pick, that’s phenomenal. A huge win for our generally pathetic drafting and amateur scouting departments.

True, but I'd like prishchepov to get ahl season this year..

I don't know, if he's getting top six minutes down there yes, if not no. He's clearly valuable here, and more experience here will get him more trust. If he shows signs of letting off the gas, or burning out then sure.

What he's doing now, in the NHL is valuable.

I believe the year is 'burnt' whether he plays in the NHL or AHL... just a very different salary for him.

In that case, I would only send him down if:

Everyone is clearly healthy and he has to be healthy scratched.
Hes guaranteed a top 6 role on the eagles so he can develop like LoC and get full time role in 25.

He's 20, so his contract can't slide. I personally think Kelly has been crap, so I would be happy to "waive" goodbye to him and keep Prishchepov up (we've got to come up with a nickname for him). However, that isn't the Avs style, so I think the numbers game will probably push him to the AHL eventually.

If he plays the entire season in the NHL that's the worst case scenario, because that will mean our forward group is never healthy, and we're probably battling for a WC spot in March.
