I think it's fair to say that Prishchepov has earned this callup. He played well in preseason, earned an ELC for it, then posted 4 points in 6 games as a first year AHL player. Yes, the Avs are desperate, but you have to give some credit to Prishchepov as well for making his case.

Good on Prishy. He deserves the call-up. He has had a very good showing in both the preseason and the AHL so far.

Love it. Who ever banged the table for him in the 7th round should be promoted. Even if it doesnt work out, a 7th round pick getting NHL mins is better than 90% of 7th round picks.

He cant possibly be worse than Kylington as a forward, especially at forechecking. I actually think hes probably better than Stienburg.

I think he needs to get a lot faster, but the brain and role are definitely there for him. I liked how he always found some empty space offensively, something you can't teach.

Yeah, he definitely seems like he's got a box full of things Bednar likes and can find use for. But...it seemed like his brain was working just that much faster than his hands and feet.

This kid is everything Bednar wants in a 4th liner. All things considered, I thought he was just fine tonight. He has a nose for the right spot on the ice to make things happen. A year in the AHL might well give us a solid 4th line guy on an ELC next year. Kovalenko - Ivan - Nikita could be a damn good 4th line.

Colton - Legit 3C - LOC
Kovalenko - Ivan - Nikita

I also think Bednar might get away with Landy - Colton - LOC with some modifications to the C position in order to get Colton more time at Winger in the O zone. But the 4th line / 3rd pair are going to have to be Vet Minimum or ELC in order to stay cap compliant. That meas Wood has to go. It also likely means going into next season with Juice and KK in net, for cap reasons.
