Reminds me of young Jamie Benn watching him out there. I wouldn't be surprised to see him become a ppg player especially if he sticks on the top powerplay unit. The fact he's playing well whether he's with Matthews, ROR or Tavares bodes well for lineup flexibility in these playoffs and future seasons.

I’ve been saying Jamie Benn for a while. I definitely agree with that comparison.

There's been so many times these playoffs where he's been on the ice but I mistakingly think it's Matthews out there. The way they skate with the puck, stick-handle and forecheck are so similar. Knies obviously doesn't have Matthews goal scoring ability but this is a future star imo.

What impresses me the most about the kid is how good he his handling the puck. He moves it with ease through traffic and creates such smart little plays.

He seems to have the confidence of Keefe and it’s paying off huge. Didn’t think he’d have quite this level of impact. Excited to watch him get better and better

I can't wait to see this kid in a few years. He's going to be a monster to deal with. He's good now but once he fully fills out and adjusts? Man.

He reminds me so much of Jamie Benn it's kind of scary. His speed is surprising though. He's good in transition and insane at protecting the puck along the boards and moving it in a way where it gets through traffic or in to dangerous places. Hope he's stapled to Matthews and Marner line next season. Could be a legitimately special line.

Could you imagine if Robertson could stay healthy and hit on his potential too? Nobody expects him to be as good as his brother but that's a very deep forward group.

Really really nice on paper. Doubly so if Bunting takes a really cheap deal but he's most likely gone.

Hard to put into words the impact he’s had. I can confidently say that he’s already our best left-wing.

Really, the only thing he needs to clean up are the zone-exits. It eventually did hurt the team tonight with that turnover causing the tying goal. But he obviously made up for it with the assist on the OT winner.

Overall, what a unicorn of a player. Hard to come up with a comparison for him considering his work ethic, skill, and instincts. He’s just going to be one of a kind.

His pro potential was obvious. Was always going to be a quick adaptor and coaches favorite at the next level.

Reason #8,838 to not take seriously any of these legions of armchair scouts who clearly don’t watch a second of college hockey, only care because their team’s prospect is on a statistical heater and who base everything on “player X is this many years old and scored this many points so they are going to be better at the next level than player Y who is this many years old and scored this many points”.

It would be pretty interesting if right after he loses the NCAA National Championship, he then turns arounds and wins the Stanley Cup.

To me, he’s not NHL ready and looks rough out there. He’s giving the puck away, trying to get too fancy, and losing puck battles like you wouldn’t believe. He doesn’t look dangerous offensively, and likely already developed a bad reputation with the refs for embellishment.

5 on 5 in the series.

Did you call your therapist last night?

My unbiased opinion as I had not seen him before this series. He's definitely NHL quality and at minimum should be a middle-6 player for his career. Not sure how much untapped potential is there but he could be a complimentary top line player. I don't see game breaking (star) skill. However he competes the way players need in order to win games that matter. This is the kind of player development that a successful franchise needs.

The kid finished the series with 3 pts in 5 games, was on the ice and a factor for all 3 OT winners. He's been a force along the boards, good puck protection, made some nice plays and a relentless puck hound on defense. Great series from him.

Can we get some words from @Hinterland ?

What do you wanna hear? As I already said, you can't argue against success so so far so good. I mean he won his 1st playoff series with his new team...with a team that hasn't won one for pretty much 20 years against a team that won several cups over the last few years.

I still don't see any Justin Abdelkader in this kid though. He's still too soft for my liking so I doubt he's gonna make a living in the NHL as a grinder or energy guy as suggested by some here. His skating is better than expected though and he's surprisingly strong on the puck so there's hope. We'll have to see how it all works out for him next season and beyond. Had quite a few bad turnovers but overall he's been helpful for the Leafs in this playoff series though which is good to see since my worry was that there's been too much pressure on him.
