Katzin is a fun player to watch, he plays the game with pace - he doesn‘t do anything at less that 110%. He reminds me a lot of Brad Marchand.

Katzin isn’t the biggest guy, looks no bigger than 5’10” but he always has his motor going and is always talking to the opposing team. He is a great skater that can easily blow by defenders at this level. I have seen him in multiple occaions use the Mohawk stride circling the offensive zone, awaiting for a opening to create a scoring chance. He isn’t afriad of the front of the net, or being pushed around by bigger players. Plays the game with a ton of heart. He is for sure a player to watch moving forward.

My review of what I've watched from him this season. Has 8+18=26 points in 38 games.
Having one of the better scoring seasons for a 2025 draft-eligible in the USHL this season. The real issue with his skillset is that he’s 5’8. Hard to see him staying at center at 5’8. He’ll probably have to move to winger, and then you get to whether he has elite skating and scoring skills for 5’8. I think both are pretty good for 5’8, but I think it’s hard to see him being any higher than a 3rd or 4th round pick, at earliest, without growing between now and the draft. Committed to Harvard for 2025-26.

Off to Guelph, at least for the remainder of the year. Still a high-level Penn State recruit for, ostensibly, next fall - so I'm interested in seeing how this new CHL track plays out for guys like him (not blue chippers but at least potentially draftable for the NHL)...does he really go to Penn State next fall to start his post-draft journey, or does he stick around Guelph through his 19 or 20 year-old season - and then college just becomes a fall back if an professional contract doesn't materialize?

Edit: Another PSU recruit, Mathieu Taillefer, also jumping from the BCHL to Halifax as well.

13 pts in 6 games so far in the OHL. (Mind you this could change as it is only the end of the first but he got 2 goals on the fronts)

In other words- kid is looking pretty good. I predict a second round pick if he keeps this up.

ushl is dramatically harder league to score than ohl - bchl guys scoring a ton too in the chl . As a high end scout( im not ) my evaluation statisticaly speaking by kids leaving leagues and playing in the chl , its not as high end league nhl scouts think . im a math guy - im sure lot of nhl scouts for the first time can criss cross statistically instat numbers because first time of that many kids leaving . When i do it shows chl is overrated especially in depth in late round drafting .

Points isn’t all there is to it. He’s working towards getting himself picked with his recent scoring, but he probably won’t be over 2PPG. I predict a late round pick.

hearing everybody wants to leave ushl and head to OHL or the Q to load up on points there like lot of players for the draft . Katzin and Morin went from having underperforming ushl year to great years in CHL - im sure all agent see this so interesting to see more movements over the holiday break .
