I didn't get to watch every preseason game but iirc he was at one point on the top line with Johansen and Neal. I don't know if it stuck but it shows Lavy is giving him a shot.

It's tough to say what carries over into the regular season, but both Laviolette and Poile said he was the best forward in camp, and he was on a line with Johansen and Neal

Was sent down a few days ago, picked up 3 assists in the AHL tonight and a goal in the first game.

He should burn the AHL up.

I honestly don't know why he was sent down. While he only had 2 goals on the season, he was getting chances...and the team had already started to right itself by that point, but for some reason, Lavy really seems to love Cody Bass. He'll be back soon enough I expect.

Fiala is a good prospect. I had high hopes for him his draft year. I have no doubts he will be a top 6 fwd soon.

He's playing really, really well. I never thought he should have been sent down, but I don't think anyone could say he's not a top six forward at the NHL level at this point

Any comments on his play this year? 2 goals in almost 30 games since he scored twice in his first game back is pretty underwhelming, but I don't watch Nashville enough to know what kind of icetime, linemates, etc he gets.

Watched a few games over the last couple weeks. The more I see the more I like. He's young and a little snake bitten. Plays a lot with Fisher. Sometimes out of position but has the speed to recover. Always moving. No panic in his game and seems confident. Not a bottom six type. Not to flashy but creates quite a few scoring chances. Size wise reminds me of Jeff Skinner. If he learns to score in the big league then he may have a ceiling similar.
