Very intriguing prospect. I think he will fit in nicely with some of the two-way guys Detroit has in the system

So a follower pointed out his name plate translates to “elektronic” this is a nickname Roman Borisovich Rotenberg gave Buch based on a tv series from the 80’s called The Adventures of the Elektronic. Hence why he’s got the old school look. Pretty fun bit.

thanx for the update . a great mix of talent and killer instinct that it takes to be an nhl goal scorerIt wasn't Rotenberg who gave him the nick, but fans.
There was an episode in the series where they played hockey. And Electronic was a cyborg who looked exactly as a kid named Syroezhkin so they dressed him to play instead. He obviously had superior skating and stamina to young kids, the problem was he still was a robot so he shot the puck by the most optimal trajectory i.e. the shortest one, and the opponents goalie saved all his shots with ease.
Of course Buchelnikov isn't a robot and can shoot very well, but he's fast and relentless and even looks kinda similar to that series' main character that's why Electronic.

not next season and hopefully not for 2 years as Red Wings have to figure out whether they go with the youngsters or grey-beardsHope he is over in NA next year... they have the players/prospects to be patient, should be interesting to see when he crosses the pond.
He is not on loan from SKA, that was last year when he was loaned to Vladivostok.Just saw that young Dmitri is on loan from SKA...hopefully he ends up there next year to taste more team success and play in front of 20000-22000 fans per night!!!
OK thanks for up-dating me on that...any idea whether he will sign another contract with Vityaz Moscow RegionHe is not on loan from SKA, that was last year when he was loaned to Vladivostok.
He's under contract with Vityaz until the end of the 25/26 season at the moment. Whether he tries to come to Detroit or stays in the KHL after that I could not tell you.OK thanks for up-dating me on that...any idea whether he will sign another contract with Vityaz Moscow Region
I hope he waits to see what happens in Detroit cause I would like to see him have success in Detroit and not be sent to AHL Grand Rapids a demotion even from KHLHe's under contract with Vityaz until the end of the 25/26 season at the moment.
