Agreed on all of the above. He will be a top-six guy and a PP contributor because I don't think he has the defensive game to be a bottom-sixer -- not yet anyway.

I'd like to see some more stats about his defensive game to confirm this, but his plus/minus (-11) on a Chicago team that is basically even is concerning. I know +/- is not the be all and end of all defensive stats, but there was an eight-game stretch stretch in Jan where he was -11 and a recent five-game stretch where he was -9.

You can teach a guy to play defence, though, and if he's giving the effort, I'm not worried. He will have to round out his game more though before he'll be able to establish himself with the Canes.

Al Arbour would agree (Bossy).....Brind'Amour is the right coach to teach him the fundamentals too.

This kid has surprised a lot of people, myself included. I know many projected him as a middle 6’er but he could possibly even be better. Damn he can rip the puck too.
The interesting thing with him he was kinda of a shock first round pick because of his size and him playing in the BCHL . It will be interesting because sherwood park has 2 kids putting up his type numbers in the bchl that are looking at 4-6 th round . Lorranger and dach ripping up bchl and there on younger and weaker team than he was at Penticton . It great to see him rip up maine and continue do well .

I predicted him to be a top six with low probability.
