A new prospect has really emerged in the BCHL, his name is Aydar Suniev.

6'2, 205 lbs. Silky smooth hands, wicked shot. Decent skater. He's having a blazing start on that Vees team.

6 goals, 3 assists in 5 games so far. Late birthday so he'll be one of the older guys. Not ranked anywhere but a real sleeper.

The Vees are crushing teams in the BCHL, and they won it all last year too (16-1 in the playoffs). And they might actually be better this year.

The one thing to note is his stats may be inflated because of that stacked team.

Suniev is also committed to UMass for 2024-25.

29 pts in 23 games in his USHL career over 2 years. Definitely benefitting from playing on a high powered Penticton team that scores a lot of goals, but he's doing his own part as well.

Were those Canadian pre major junior leagues any good? Because his Russian league numbers don't look impressive. He played in the same league Michkov scored 4+ points/game. I understand he played very few games, but still...

He skates on the 3rd/4th line because the Vees are so deep but he's already a point a game player. Should really take off next year once the Nadeau brothers are off to college.
