This guy just does not shoot the puck. He has 1 + 6 in 9 games which is pretty good but only 2 shots on goal in that time too.

One of the more super under-rated prospects around.

22 yrs old.

Led the WHL in scoring with 112 pts in 68 games in 2021-22

Great start to his pro-career last year with 38pts in 66 games in the AHL

This season he leads the AHL Abbotsford Canucks in scoring so far with 7 pts in 4 games.

Buzzsaw with high level of ICE-Q. Kills penalties, plays the PP.

I would not be surprised if he is a regular on the Canucks as early as Christmas time.

Definitely unearthed a gem here. Not sure what his ultimate upside is but he's quickly moving past the AHL and knocking down the door to the NHL.

Tremendously smart player with the hands and talent to pull off high end plays and produce. Still a ways to go in strength and being assertive as a shooter but he's looked good since camp and is getting better as his confidence grows. Makes a lot of quick clever plays that keep the puck moving the right way and may just be an excellent compliment to a top6 duo like Miller and Boeser.

Will be really cool if and when he gets his chance. He's gonna have a huge impact on the Indo community in and around the province as a Surrey born and raised kid

He's probably the best prospect in the NHL right now that nobody has heard of, and is going to be an NHL player either later this season or at the start of next season.

The production is obviously impressive but the reason he'll succeed is that he's a high-motor, agitating, quality defensive forward who plays the PK and will have no problems fitting into a bottom-6 role in the NHL.

Bains has been outstanding in Abbotsford this year (and last for that matter). Adding a few homegrown bottom 6ers on ELC's would be huge for the Canucks and their cap situation. I could see him getting a few looks this year, and push for a spot out of camp next year.

I have this guy in one of my dynasty prospect pools. I'm so pumped he's crushing it the way he is

Personally, I would marinate him in the AHL this year so that he can get tons of minutes and play in all situations to develop his game.

However, you never know with injuries with the big club, he may very well get in a lot of games this season.

At the very least, it looks like Garland is going to get traded and Beuavaillier is a free agent. There will definitely be an opportunity for Bains to be full time soon.

I think he would actually be a very good replacement for PDG on the 2nd line in the future.

I'd say so, in terms of who get the call up first. Not that Karlsson hasn't been good, it's just that Bains has really elevated his game.

Maybe if its later in the year it will be Bains.

However right now if an injury occurs in the big club, then obviously Studnicka draws in, after that I dont think Bains will be the first call up just yet. I really think the Canucks want to marinate him and continue his development in the AHL and no interrupt his momentum and growth.

Abby has verterans like Aman and Dries who played alot of NHL games last year who are probably at the top of the call up list.

Karlsson would be part of that call up list as well. He already played pro in the SHL and 1 full season with Abby.

Guys like Podz, Bains, Raty, Sasson, Mcdonough are not likely to see the bigs at least until later on in the season. I dont mind it at all either as I'm very impressed with Jeremy Colliton's coaching in Abby.

Hope he picks up a trophy or two this year so that he enters the NHL with no doubts that he belongs.

2 more points for Bains last night. 15 pts in 9 games and continues to lead the AHL in scoring.

His playmaking and endless motor continue to be his best assets. NHL ready in my opinion but doesnt hurt to be playing tons of minutes in the AHL and in every situation. Would prefer that over the 8 minutes a night he would probably be seeing in ice time with the big club.
