Lundqvist - Two Weak Games, Bounce Back Buddy

Trade him to Phoenix for Prince Chad, Ethan Werek and a conditional 7th before he starts giving up (soft) goals again

Or to Winnipeg for Montoya, the rights to negotiate with Olli jokinen and future considerations

Whatcha think Snowblind?

I've been saying this for years: Henrik Lundqvist is the opposite of a choker. Anyone who saw him in SEL or the Olympics 2006 would know this.

Sather will hand Hank a contract with the "length" and "salary" fields blank.

And by god he deserves it.

Well time to eat some crow. People have been complaining about him not stealing a series in his life, well this was this series. I was really disappointed in his game 1, with good reason. He set the bar so high for himself that that game looked like some outside factors contributed to his play. I honestly think that 3rd goal by Chimera was his worst since he let in a shot from the red line against the Caps in the regular season in the 2009-10 season. Also that second goal that he gave up on the breakaway, **** what Caps fans say, that was a soft goal FOR HIM. Anyway, since then while he didn't dominate in every game, almost every goal that beat him was a deflection from the point with traffic in front. Almost stole 2 more games. I still say game 2 was the best of his career all things considered (and no it doesn't matter that he didn't face 40 shots).

BTW, fun fact, this was only 2nd time in his career he had back to back shutouts. He also did it last season (one game was Buffalo 1-0 shootout win and the other game I don't remember).

Eagerly anticipating Snowblind showing up in this thread

I'm going to assume you think I'm going to say that we shouldn't extend him? Read what I wrote in the post-game thread and his thread. I get on him when he plays like he did in game 1. When you have the skills he's shown in games 2, 5, 6, and 7, you should get heat when you put together the kind of game he did in game 1.

Lets just give the King credit. He definitely stole the series This was one to remember. As A Rangers fanatic I am thrilled and want it to continue as it will only get harder.

My thread on the main board:

This thread is to all of the haters, including MYSELF, (I called Lundqvist the Peyton Manning of QBs (outside of Peyton's ring)). Anyway, all of the haters including MYSELF keep saying that he underperforms in the playoffs. I present you all with the stats:

Regular season:

GAA: 2.25
Save %: 0.920
Shutouts: 45

Playoffs:

GAA: 2.24
Save %: 0.921
Shutouts: 8

Now for those that think shutouts are very important (I'm not one of those). In the regular season he has a shutout about 9% of the games and in the playoffs about 13%.

Also was the 4th time in NHL history that a goalie shutout a team in game 6 and 7. If we scored 1 goal in game 2, he'd have 3 shutouts against the best offensive team in the league to end the season.

These stats also include his rookie year when was he worn out by the Olympics and was suffering from a migraine. He played 3 games with a 4.41 GAA and 0.835 Save %. An outlier that skews the stats less and less with every game, but skews the stats nonetheless.

P.S. Please don't make this into a Quick thread.

Rangers will have to be much better in the next series. Much better. You can't rely on your goaltender to steal another series like that. Now it's time for the team to step up and win one. And a lot of that will fall on Nash and Richards actually doing something.

Finns and Canucks fans will continue to irrationally hate him.

Devils fans will continue to scream that the butterfly should be outlawed.

If Henke is truly on a mission, and remains in beast mode, I really like this team's chances for the rest of the playoffs.

Simply put, the man is the best goaltender in the world. His playoff stats are now better than his regular season stats.

Anyone who refuses to accept his all-time greatness because he doesnt have a cup should take a look at the teams hes had in front of him.

I'd expect a bit of a game 1 letdown, as his energy cools a little bit from being on the brink of elimination. We'll see, though. Goaltenders are really weird, intense people and the position requires total focus. There's a reason why, even though they don't do a ton of hard skating that they need games off over the course of a season.

If Lundqvist had Quicks regular season stats this year, rangers wouldn't have made the playoffs.

I should've added the sarcasm smiley to my post.

There is still some people who think there is better goalies out there than Hank. Lol

Nono I got it, it was ment to continue your post. The dots were enough to realize you were sarcastic.

You're right. Every year its "quick/miller/price/thomas is better than Lundqvist". Where are they? Every single year Hank is the golden standard. He never falters. Without that consistancy this Ranger team is in a bad place.
