I’m loving the “Magnolia” love on this thread. Profound films “I’ve got so much love, I just don’t know where to put it!”
PTA's got a lot of good ones! I love The Master as well, and There Will Be Blood is somewhat of a modern classic. Magnolia is definitely my fav of his though.

They consistently made me laugh and still do. Even the last two days I came out with two KITH references in my daily talking. LOL

Movies

Goodfellas a literal masterpiece by Scorsese

Gorky Park great story and excellent performances by all, Lee Marvin, Anna Pacula, William Hurt

What's New, p***ycat? One of the funniest movies ever made, Woody Allen, Peter Sellers, Peter OToole, maybe not for todays sensibilities it melts too many snowflakes

Das Boot again great story and I've always been fascinated by Submarines and the psychology of serving on one, what an absolute horror show

The Big Lebowski of the Coen catalogue this may be the best, but then I think Hudsucker Proxy, No Country for Old Men, Fargo, The Man who wasn't there!, O Brother, Where art thou? and on it goes

HONOURABLE MENTION

JoJo Rabbit a great piece of movie making

TV current(last 2 years)

Dead Wind

Rebekka Martinson

Bloodlands

Narcos

Ozark

TV Alltime(no particular order)

2) twin peaks (all seasons)

How did the new season of Twin Peaks that came out a couple years ago hold up?? I LOVED the early episodes of that show, but I found the second half of season 2 borderline unwatchable with all the random side-plots, never actually brought myself to finish the 2nd season but was considering doing so just to check out the new stuff.

Was a fan of Taxi and Barney Millar.

On Saturdays, as a kid, watched the Bugs Bunny Show in the morning and HNIC that night.

It’s immense. A vast cast of recognizable actors that show for a few scenes and then are never seen again. Bizarre non sequitor vignettes are interspersed within a slowly paced supernatural and equally bizarre story arc. Some of the most amazing tv you might witness (episode 8, nuclear test “got a light”) mixed with things you might consider the worst: like a guy sweeping a floor for 10 minutes (seriously)
It’s not for everybody but there has never been anything like it. Season three is like the two previous seasons injected with lsd and sent by rocket into the sun.

Lol that sounds good, I'm gonna try to get on that one of these days then. I love surrealism, but it needs to be done properly. Twin Peaks season 1 absolutely nailed that aspect imo.
The weird or mundane scenes never bothered me, but rather things like the three episode arc of James trying to hook up with a cougar LOL. But I understand that there was external pressure from the studio that didn't allow Lynch/Frost to see their initial vision for season 2 come to light.

Yeah season 2 meandered a bit, definitely pulls it back together in the last two episodes though. Probably good to brush up on the first seasons (and the movie fwwm) just so you can look forward to the tiny bit of character/story resolve that you might find in season 3. Season 3 is sort of like the original twin peaks but it is goes well beyond the town and the origin story; it’s kind of it’s own thing. I think Lynch had full creative control this time and he went ham with it.

oh noes!!!!!!

that means you've seen Pepe Le Pew, I really hope it didn't turn you into an overly aggressive womanizing misogynist jks

below is an actual comment on FB in regard to this latest "outrage controversy"
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. However I can speak from experience when I say I was always disappointed when Pepe came on Looney Tunes. It made me uncomfortable.
Now I understand why, but as a young girl I did not. I just knew I didn’t really want to watch it. It was too “lovey” and too sensual for me. Nowadays we would call it rapey. So as a man you can have you opinion that’s it’s harmless, but as a grown, liberal, open-minded woman who speaks for a little girl... I say good riddance

and there were many more like it, I had no idea looney tunes were so harmful
