Schenn would be a nice signing if chevy could pull it off in the summer. He is the definition of solid. And Stanley can't even fight.

No need... he's already signed through next season at $2.75M. That's perhaps partly why the cost was a bit higher. Having term means that the Jets have the option of trading him at any time between the summer and next TDL to recoup a pick or two, or keeping him for two playoff runs.Schenn would be a nice signing if chevy could pull it off in the summer. Yup, I'm happy to have Luke play to FA. If he's still effective and the Jets have a need, he seems like the type of guy who would re sign.No need... he's already signed through next season at $2.75M. I don't really expect Schenn to extend in Winnipeg as a UFA. He'll be 36/37 at that point and I would think the Jets will have Salomonsson worked into the top 6 by then.Yup, I'm happy to have Luke play to FA. Schenn feels like he could fit on any of our three pairings. Just depends on how we want to use him. Him and Samberg would be a hell of a pure shutdown pairing. Especially against the teams that are more size than speed.
Colin Miller must be the worst person ever? like seriously. Schenn and Stanley are brutal.Schenn has made our team worse and i don't know why he hasn't been sat.
I would prefer he sit his ass down and make room for the far superior Miller who can actually pass and skate.Big Luke arrived as a grizzled vet and playoff warrior who was fair value for the picks and could push erratic, softer D like Miller to the PB and maybe even make a playoff D outta Big Stan.
Now he's on track to end the season as yet another r(elatively expensive) TDL add who managed to slow down the Jets play, make the team worse, and push steady, talented D like Miller to the PB.
Game 7. On the brink. Make your mark, Schenner, and don't Kevin Hayes it.
They should be loyal-er to the fans.Stanley - Miller was actually a pretty decent bottom pairing for most of the year
I think the same reason you'll see Helle start tomorrow (even though he shouldnt) is the same reason you'll see Schenn... just the org being loyal to the vets who have paid their dues and established themselves
Zero chance TNSE rips Luke away from his family for months only to sit him
Jets ES | CF% | FF% | SF% | GF-GA | xGF% | SCF% | HDCF% |
W/Schenn | 47% | 49% | 46% | 3-10, -7 | 52% | 49% | 47% |
w/o Schenn | 55% | 55% | 53% | 10-8. +2 | 60% | 58% | 58% |
Yes, that's a small sample lolJets in this series with Luke Schenn on the ice at 5v5 or Even Strength:
3 GF - 10 GA, -7
Jets without Schenn at 5v5:
8 GF - 8 GA, +0
Jets without Schenn at Even Strength:
10 GF - 8 GA, +2
I hear Buffdog warming up his keyboard to point out I'm using GF in a small sample. Well, it's pretty relevant to the Jets being headed to Game 7. But here are the rest of the numbers:
Jets ES CF% FF% SF% GF-GA xGF% SCF% HDCF% W/Schenn 47% 49% 46% 3-10, -7 52% 49% 47% w/o Schenn 55% 55% 53% 10-8. +2 60% 58% 58%
What a complete liability! And that's not even mentioning his terrible penalty differential.
Schenn's net penalties: -6
Entire Jets team net penalties: -7 (so -1 without Schenn).
The best thing about Schenn is the Jets have only given up one goal on the penalty kill when he's been out there and they're 0-5 when he's not on the PK. But since he's personally responsible for nearly 18% of the Jets penalties in this series, it's probably a bit of a wash.
But overall, it's hard to believe how significant a negative impact he's had as a sheltered 3rd pairing defenseman.
I fully expect him to be in the lineup tomorrow because that's how the Jets roll...unable to identify problems and unable to address them.
I wish...but the Jets seem to have Schenn as their #5. Maybe Stanley comes out.Yes, that's a small sample lol
But I don't even think we need stats at this point to conclude that Schenn has played like dogshit. The eye test matches that 100%
Chevy needs to surprise him with a PJ tomorrow morning to go visit his family in Nashville for a couple of days lol
