He tries to do too much and he wanders on defense. He needs a strong coach who will teach him positioning and patience

I'd like to use him similarly to how we're using Sevo. I think Bahl could be able to replace Graves and you have Luke out there to crush soft competition on a 3rd pair. You can mask his big defensive shortcomings a lot better like that. Then hopefully over time he grows to at least competent defensively

Interesting hearing the announcer talking about Luke gaging in a garbage can between shifts

Might be a good thing to not have that at first. I think he's better off having someone that'll let him play his game. I think it's better for him to establish his strengths first and then work more on the weakness.

Putting him with Marino makes sense in a way but they probably want Marino being the shutdown guy again next year. Mentioned in the team thread but Fitz might go look for a steady bottom pair guy to pair him with. Someone who can just let Luke be Luke in a 3rd pair role.

I used to like the idea of just parking him with Marino. I've turned around on that though. I want Bahl or Siegs with Marino for a shut down pair and the other goes with Dougie. As I said earlier I like the idea of using Luke like we've done with Sevo this year. The RD pickings are pretty slim FA wise. Holl's been the one guy I've really thought of. Maybe Fitz can pull another trade out of nowhere.

I like Casey but Luke is special.

In general sure but Casey easily clears tonight. We've had the classic Luke defense without the insane amount of offensive generation that generally comes along with it.
