That's what I envision, but not as good. Eller is excellent at protecting the puck and skates very well.

Eller sucks. He doesn't do anything with the puck. So what if he is excellent at protecting it. He kills time effectively is all that he does. If Vedjemo sin't as good as Eller when he is fully developed, get rid of him right away. That won't even be an impact player if he is as good as Eller...

This isn't an Eller thread but Vejdemo is so far from Eller it's not even funny. He's 21, when Eller was 19 he put up more points in the SHL then Vejdemo has in his career so far. Now maybe he's a late bloomer, and I'm not fan of Eller but we would be lucky if Vejdemo was half the player Eller is.

Lukas is having a great start in the SweHL being 3rd in points in his team with 10 pts in 16 games (1st in the team has 13 pts).

Would be interesting if he could come the North America next year and maybe a replacement for Pleky????

In January, his contract was extended over the 17/18 season and Djurgården's strategic sporting director Joakim Eriksson said:
"His strength in the center role is that he is very slippery. Lukas is able to skate at high speed for a very long time and is good at moving the game through the path to the offensive zone. He is also a wise spell distributor and is a good drinker, as are things he will develop even more over time.

Hey if you don't have NHL skillz and have a drinking problem, distributing spells may be a good way to score goals

Who would you have picked at 3rd?
I personally found it surprising to pick up an overager in the third round and would have prefered Nicholas Roy, especially when both project to be 3rd/4th line centers, but I’ve been warming up to the pick lately.

It will be interesting to see what kind of season he has and if they bring him over or not. I don't see him in the NHL next year so if they did it would be for Laval imo. That said they don't have to sign him for 2 years so maybe they leave him in the SHL next year and then bring him over. See if he can put together 2 big years after taking a step back last season.

Yer a wizard Harry.

He'll sit and scout for the whole game, but he'll only actually watch one or two shifts.

This is what is really going on in his head, outside of the one or two shifts he had been paying attention to:

$

From what he says, he's got no interest in playing in the AHL, which would indicate he'll probably get one more 2 year contract with Djurgardens before he gives NA a chance.

I could see him staying in Sweden past next year, the Habs could opt to sign and loan him like they did with Engqvist, then bring him over in 20-21 if he continues to progress. He would be 25 so just hitting his prime years.

It's "Djurgarden", the "s" is possessive and is only used with "IF". Djurgardens IF (Idrottsförening) means Djurgarden's SC (Sports Club).

Djurgården is a district of Stockholm. The name is a combination of "djur" ("animal", but "game" in this context) and "gård" ("park"). The "en" is a definite determiner, which in Swedish is placed at the end of words. Literally "Djurgården" means "The Game Park".

I would had much prefered Nicolas Roy from Saguenay. A RH shot, big centerman who is progressing well in the Carolina org.

But IF Poehling, Evans and Vejdemo can pan out.... Habs will finally have some strength down the middle. That's all we could hope.
