.and I would suspect given that the Habs will likely have three top 60 picks,,there will be at least three or four in next year's tournament.

Unlikely based on the way many want to trade picks and prospects now. If Bergevin would listen to them, everything that cannot play now should be traded. All that on the illusion that the cup window is now open.

True. His point about Juulsen though his age more than anything but like I said before, tune changes depending of the opinion of the moment.

I agree. For me it's not the end of the world whether or not Habs have players there. It's obvious that if you pick Canadian players, your chances or landing players on the team are much slimmer than if you pick players from other countries. There's also the role thing that comes into play, age and what have you. Only difference is I'm not going to use that argument against a player. Something GrantMccagg has done on a few occasions. Arguing on the one hand that the WJC doesn't mean anything for a player and then saying, hey look, told you that kid didn't have it in him.

And here I'd thought I'd get some info on Vejdemo......lol

He might make it. If he does, it will be crucial to his development and a sign that our scouting group are made of geniuses.....if he doesn't, it's not that important, totally predictable and it won't matter at all as what's important is the NHL not this little stupid tournament. :D

Just joking people....breathe in, breathe out. In the end, I'm not expecting it, which can only be good news. Didn't even think he'd be invited....but he's doing quite well though this year. If he makes it, might even be a candidate to start in the bottom lines and just graduate within the lineup as the tournament progresses.

Only hope we have as Habs fans. Go Vej Go!

It does suck a bit, but that just means that the focus will have to change to the draft eligibles for the 2016 draft.

Bottom line is that this is a great tournament. I for one will enjoy it, regardless of the number of Habs prospects participating.

Why? Because we like to see Habs prospects in a tournament like this? Because we thought that he had the advantage since there was only 2 righties on the squad? Because we also thought that this D squad was not that great to begin with? Good enough reasons to be sad? Please tell me where in this do I talk about him being a bust or that he will have no NHL future whatsoever?

I think you are the one reacting on emotions. All this post after "pretty sad"....I don't see the "logic". ;)

I see..so NOW your "pretty sad" meant as in "boo hoo".

.I do believe most of us interpreted that as meaning "pretty incompetent"...and I am inclined to surmise you were aware of that when you wrote..otherwise you would have expanded on it...or at least ended it with a frown emoticon :)

The comment about emotion said "people"..I wasn't intending to pinning this on you WS..but for ALL the people acting emotionally about it.

AS I said in my first post..this goes in cycles...and when you don't have a lot of high picks..you don't usually have lot of players in the upcoming WJC.

The Habs had two players picked in the top 120 of the past two drafts eligible for the WJC. One made a strong Swedish team. despite no one on here knowing thing about him a mere 6 months ago... the other as Bob McKenzie told me was essentially the final cut of Team Canada..losing out to guy drafted 8 spots ahead of him in Chabot and another right after him in Dermott..who I thought was a top 25 pick in last year's draft.

Disappointing? Certainly..but nothing to be overly upset at the scouting staff about. I'd be more peeved off about them taking Bourque over Reddekopp... or stuff of that nature. :)

So if your NOW in capital letters means That I'm trying to change the pretty sad meaning into something more acceptable....you can read that post I made before the "pretty sad" post...
Everybody remember McDonagh so don't worry...nobody thinks he's a bust. But in this game, I think that the only thing going for him is that he's a righty. 'Cause he's not doing what he can to stay on this team. And it will be dissapoiting if that happens. But it doesn't mean he's a ECHL'er for life.

I might be hard on Juulsen with my skating comment, his pivots and agility need to be worked on greatly, but in no way am I implying he's a bust and will never play in the NHL. I think it's pretty clear. So yep, my "pretty sad" comment was about being dissapointed to not see him this year. Just like it won,t be a fun World Juniors based on habs representation no matter the reason is. The ending is that it won't be fun to follow for that reason. Don't worry though....I love junior hockey just as much if not sometimes even more so I'd find other reasons to love that great tournament.

People just aren't used to seeing only 1 prospect in the WJCs. Even if we ignore all the 1st rounders, since 2003 every draft essentially had a WJC players.

2003: Halak, Korpikari, Heino-Lindberg,
2004: Emelin
2005: S.Kostitsyn, Mikus, Latendresse
2006: Valentenko
2007: Subban, Weber, Torp
2008: Kristo, Trunev
2009: Nättinen, Similä
2010: Gallagher
2011: Pribyl
2012: Hudon, Collberg
2013: Reway, Lehkonen, Fucale, DLR
2014: None
2015: None/Vejdemo

From solely entertainment stand point, Habs junior prospects haven't been this boring to follow in a long time. Quality wise, who knows.

2014 had Fucale, Lehkonen and Reway didn't it?

I don't remember what year, but I remember that Galchenyuk has played for US. And in that tournament, I remember Gaudreau was much better than Galchenyuk.

holy eff that goal was a beauty. Thanks Glory. that close to put that top cop corner on your back hand is something.

Really excited to see what he can do next year. he apparently finished 4th in U20s scoring in the league. Not bad at all.

here's a little write up on him: http://www.habseyesontheprize.com/2...g-lukas-vejdemo-artturi-lehkonen-martin-reway

also shows a vid of his beauty of an assist a few days ago.

I'm cautiously pumped about him.

Really good read ! The kid sounds very smart and easy going . Most importantly for us, he seems eager to get to the NHL at some point in the near future. His willingness to come to the summer camp says a lot to me in that regard, as opposed to a guy like Reway for exemple.
