Confirmed with Link: Lucas Condotta re-signs with Montreal (2 years, 2-way, 775k AAV, 350k AHL 400k guaranteed)

Love this. A character player who will do anything and everything for his team and his teammates. A guy who can get the call to play a depth role in Montreal to cover for any injuries.

We talk a lot about the culture in Montreal, but guys like Condotta are the kind of guys who contribute to the culture in Laval, which is just as important as the big team, because most of the prospects will pass by Laval before they get to Montreal.

This feel a bit early to extend the AHLer/Twinners, but I'm not complaining. This give more stability for 2 more years to Laval leadership.

I think they made a special case for him, since he's the captain in Laval and well liked inside the organization. Plus the Rocket are looking for a deep playoff run this year and this might be a small boost to the locker room.

In a different year, I'd be against it. Talking about talking 1 spot on a NHL contract. Talking about lack of production. Talking about whatever...

Not today. Not this year. He brings leadership to the room. He is leading a group that is winning. We'll be able to live without that 1 single contract on 50.

Good signing. Great message to sent. It's the Habs culture of work ethic in Laval. Nothing wrong with that. Happy to see him on board. Now do that to vets like Wotherspoon please.

No reason to wait until the summer if you want him back.

I hope Wotherspoon and Dauphin follow suit shortly.
I think it's more the players who wait to see if they might get a better deal elsewhere, then team not trying to extend the ones they like at this point in time.

And yes for more Wotherspoon/Dauphin.

I like this move. He's been good with Laval and provides some leadership there. He's also a call up if we need someone for the 4th line for a handful of games here and there to cover for injuries.

I still remember when we signed him out of UMass-Lowell. He played all 4 NCAA years for them and was their captain in his final year.

He scored 29 points total in his first 3 years and then 23 points in his final season.

I was like, who the f*** is this guy? He can't even score! Well, he still can't score, but he's been a great leader and a player who brings an exemplary work ethic.

Glad too see him suceed here & re-sign with us.
