OT: Lounge (Read OP).

I did it! Click on Sportsbook and hit 'mark as read'. I should've figured that out last night, haha.
Yes that works...but it's not a permanent fix....as soon as more "threads" are created under Sportsbook, the numbers will reappear.

Those 2 are both my favorites.
I know...what's funny is that when I finally logged in, it also had the old Villemure avatar.....a few days later the avatar switched to Mr M. Very strange.

Guess I'll stick with the "hybrid" personna.

Most evil new business practice I've seen recently: I went to pay my son's $800 Toyota bill, and they charged a 3% transaction fee for using a CC. I've paid $5400 bills there and I'm supposed to bring that much cash or pay a $162 fee!?! That's nuts!

"Transaction fees" are the biggest crock of shit. It's just a way to add another shadow charge that no one will/can question (and even if someone does, they have canned answers that you can't say anything but "Ok" to) and for any company to pocket more of your $$ under the guise of "your convenience."

My moms mechanic started doing that around 5 years ago. Said that was their cost from the credit card company. They have a sign that says save 3% by paying cash or check.

Restaurants have really taken advantage of "providing services" with orders thru Seamless or Door Dash. I was ordering something from a restaurant I frequented. When I saw the final price, I was suspicious....I checked the order to see what was going on....seems this place now tacks on a delivery fee and a service fee before you even start your order....those fees came to more than $10 (and then you have to tip the delivery person separately). Naturally, haven't ordered from them since.

A delivery fee, a service fee, a transaction fee, a processing fee, an overhead/admin fee, a tip for a server/delivery driver, +$1 for anything with eggs..a BEC is gonna run you about $20 these days.

Geez, the watch/unwatch button is now invisible unless you put the cursor on top of it. Are we all just test players for a video game company such as the one in Mythic Quest?

@NickyFotiu I've been sitting in bonds, energy, and materials since January and I'm up today .3%. I hope you're doing well.
Those sound like good risk off defensive places to be so you missed a good amount of downside in Feb/March.

SPY dropped from around 611 to 550 in that Feb/Mar time period but is back up to 564 today.

Didn't you say your holdings were $81 or something? You have me confused. :)

I only have $129 in US stock. My portfolio is 6-7 figures.

I guess my pool thread didn’t survive the crash.

I’m now 5-3 in my first season of a solo league. On Thursday I’m gunna face the highest ranked player in the league. He’s a B+ and I’m somehow a D. So I get a 6 win handicap. Jesus Christ lmao. It’s a race to 9 so I need to win 3 before he wins 9. Going to be fun watching this guy play and potentially f*** me up. He’s 6-0 so these handicaps have been making no difference to him so far.

This is because the food delivery services charge them. It isn’t just a driver who gets a tip, the GrubHubs and DoorDashes all charge the restaurants to use their service and the restaurants don’t have much choice, since most don’t have the infrastructure to provide their own dedicated online ordering. People are too lazy to call and place the order over the phone these days and any online service that hosts your menu and enables you to have online ordering wants a cut. The 3% charge they add on your tab, or at a mechanic for instance, is what they are charged every time they run a credit card as well. You can’t just swipe a credit card without having a credit card processing provider who also wants a piece of the action. This is pretty common practice at smaller mom and pop places because they’re barely surviving as is. At Toyota? Absolute f***ing thievery. You eat the 3% charge, just like Buffalo Wild Wings or Chilli’s or larger chain restaurants do.
