We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.
What This Means for You:
- If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
- If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
- Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
- Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress
Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

So today I found out there's an HFBoards Discord server lol. Came in handy until whatever needed to be done to clean up this mess.
I am so happy they install updates every few months to prevent downtime.... Oh, wait....
The upside to this is we get to look at year-old threads and see who the dumbasses are.
It surprisingly is. I rolled out a piece of software two years in the making at work, and our developer told us dark mode was one of the most complicated and expensive features we asked for. I was shocked.
HFBoards has had some epic meltdowns over the years but this one might take the cake.

Agreed. I used to be a mod and the way I had to get back in was by using old posts to discover what they changed my username to, so I could log in.
I had problems because I changed my name to Mr Mxyzptlk....however, I misspelled it 3-4 times before I got it right...none of the variations worked....then when I was sitting and wondering what it could be, I saw my email address and decided to try my original name. Sure enough it worked. Of course, it took me a few hours.
The roadrunner email I first registered with no longer is alive and not because of me.....it was them or whoever them are. But that's what this site wants. I'd changed the password here at least once too and I don't really use it for anything else.
I realize it's not your fault. I changed my email once and it caused me so many problems. I'm just gonna keep my username so I don't have to be Sherlock Holmes again.
