Loui Eriksson retires

1x all star, 16 seasons, over 1k games but it'll always be this for me:

I'd say congrats but I'm a Canucks fan who saw "little things" completely mail it in after signing his retirement contract with us. Guys like him are not winners.
Which is funny, because the first half of his career was the exact opposite.

Maybe he just mailed it in, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he had some chronic health issue that popped up.

Generationally awful.

Last one to practice, first one to leave. In 5 seasons with the Canucks he didn't crest 100 points total. 6 million by 6 years.

His one saving grace was all the funny weird faces he would get caught on camera making.

I recall when he told the Swedish media that he blamed the coach. Vancouver was just floored when that got back across the pond - like he thought it wouldn't.

As a bruins & canucks fan, this was a wild career. Showed some bright sides in Boston. Decent player.

Was excited to see shat he could do in Vancouver. He showed NO effort, ever. Like 0. Just floated around doing so little it actually was amazing. For how bad he was he somehow didn't get a lot of hate around Vancouver for how bad he really was. People would just shake their head and say "what are you gonna do?" By year 2 people knew it wasn't gonna get better.

That 2016 free agency

hall-of-fame
For the biggest pile of sh-t in history

The amount of buyouts that came from that singular free agency is next level

It has to be the worst free agency class in history and teams acted like it was Marner or rantanen
