For loudest I'll go Florida. The past 2 playoff runs the place has been deafening and now with a chance to repeat they'll turn it up a notch.

For quietest I'll go Winnipeg. Smallest barn in the league and the games I've watched this season has had very little energy. I've heard people say the fans in the 'Peg are watching the game so intently it comes off as them being quiet. I don't have an answer, but obviously no team will fear having to go there.

Confidently incorrect. Tells me you've never seen a playoff game in Winnipeg.

Has to be some actual science done here, no? So far this is opinion based and im guessing few posters here have been to every arena.

It's hard to tell the quietest.

Bell centre could be the loudest, but if the Habs can't get much going, it might be the quietest.

So taking an easy approach whichever team gets steamrolled will probably have a "quiet" arena.

Imo no arena is quiet in the playoffs.

I went to the finals the year they lost to Vegas. And there’s no way the bell center won’t be louder for game 1

Wasn’t it just last year that someone started a thread with this exact same title in which the OP gave the exact same answer to the question (Florida)?

There was and it was done by the same person who started this thread. Not sure how to quote from back then but the original post in that thread was:

"For loudest I’ll go Florida. They had a nice run last season and their fans are salivating for that cup.

For quietest I’ll go Winnipeg. Smallest arena and the barn has rarely been full this season. In the past they’ve even failed to sellout playoff games."

No worries NextBigThing, the Jets will be fine and the arena will be as loud as it always is.

I doubt there's been an actual consistent ranked measurement done (because who cares that much), but I've read (and have been told by a sound guy who worked for the NHL network) that Winnipeg, Montreal, Vegas, Chicago, Edmonton, Nashville and San Jose get the loudest.

Quietest: Canadian tire centre (OTT)

I’d be pretty surprised.

Ottawa has been out of the post-season for awhile so the crowd will be pumped.

If we end up playing the Leafs, there will be a fair number of opposing fans which usually dials up the overall volume.

It’s typically a pretty loud and wild crowd in the playoffs compared with the regular season.

Didn’t realize this is for post season thought it was in general. I go there a few times every year and it’s silent especially if sens are losing not to mention when they play the leafs and habs only half the place is sens fans

It can get pretty loud sometimes with competing fan bases as they try to out cheer each other.

It can be quiet in Ottawa, particularly if it’s a weeknight and everyone has to drive home from Kanata.

The more drinking, the louder it gets.

Playoffs are a different beast IMO.

This thread comes up a lot and aside from dodgy decibel meters, it’s pretty hard to be definitive about it.

Some smaller arenas can seem louder because of the acoustics even though fewer people are making noise.

Where you end up sitting may also make a difference.
