If that's the case, this organization will never be sucessful!Malkin isn’t interested in waiting around for prospects to develop either. And neither will the fans.

Two different things.Yes they will. The fans won't pay to watch Groundhog Day.

Oh well, might as well give up and relocate the team to New Orleans. You speak for all fans? And what you are saying there is no chance we are going to see the Islanders win a cup in at least the next decade, and our objective is going to be to try and get in an 8th seed wild card
pretty sad fans I must admit then. Two different things.

This is true.pretty sad fans I must admit then.
No, just realize what kind of fanbase the Islanders actually have and stop gaslighting them. Two different things.

The fanbase has proven for years they will not show up when the team stinks, even with it as the ‘home’ team, down the street, and cheap tix/parking. Rivalries, kids days, and Saturdays were the exception. This is true.

That can be said for probably 80% of the fan base in the NHLThe fanbase has proven for years they will not show up when the team stinks, even with it as the ‘home’ team, down the street, and cheap tix/parking. Rivalries, kids days, and Saturdays were the exception.
They do show up when the team is competitive.
It’s whether Malkin wants to deal with the low points and for how long.
Sure, but an owner must willingly want to take that course of action knowing what is going to happen. That can be said for probably 80% of the fan base in the NHL
I agree, there's a difference between owners and a fan base regarding what they are willing to do. I do belive if fans were given a clear direction from mgmt and "NEW" GM on how they are going to rebuild/retool this team. We would be patience. You are 1000% right on Malkin, he is not in it for the fans, just the land and him selling team once project is completed....Again, the only ones that suffer are the fans here.Sure, but an owner must willingly want to take that course of action knowing what is going to happen.
Malkin is either invested long term or bought a team, built an arena (OVG), and got his village for free riding the valuation, so he’ll sell once the village is 100% operational and he feels the entire project is done. Any earlier he losses influence over the plan. The only tbd is the hotel.
My guess is if Malkin is long term, he’s less likely to keep Lou. If he’s short term, like next 2-3 years, he wants that stability of Lou.
