Time to play LaDue, Kempe, Gravel, and Dowd in tougher situations to see what they can handle for next season.

Oiler fan here - was at the game tonight and watched last night on the tube - what in hell is up with the Kings??? They have zero emotion - the "old" Kings would have beat Tkachuk to death with that dirty elbow last night and I was expecting a rough and tumble affair with what was a must win for them tonight and the game was done at the 1 minute mark, they just folded their tent and played on the outside all night long lobbing shots hoping for a tip or deflection, luck bounce or something.

Team has to blow it up, way too many big contracts with term paying for yesterday's home runs. Gaborik, Brown and Kopitar inneffective. Kopitar contract will kill this team.

There has to be huge change in LA in the offseason, no?

I'm pretty sure the Kings derive sustenance from my misery.

I don't know. It's like someone stole the real Kings and replaced them with cheap knock-offs, hoping we wouldn't notice. But yeah, you've pretty much summed up our wth? conversation on these boards for the entire season.

I've been watching since they acquired Iginla, and I was thinking the same thing: It's like they've been Space Jammed. I will say for this game that the Kings looked like a legitimate team for the last 30 minutes of the game. They just couldn't buy a goal.

Is all you do is come in here and complain after the games?

You should be here complaining during the game like everyone else.

I had better things to do than watch this nutless team skate around for 60 minutes.

Let me guess, did Kopitar break his stick on the net after the final buzzer went off?

Lombardi won them a couple cups as GM but he has paid aging players handsomely for what they used to do and not what they will do in the future. The bad contracts this team has rivals only Detroits (another team paying for yesterdays home runs). I'm not sure he saw the pulse and pace of the game speed up as much as it has either, big bruising hockey can win but the boys have to be able to skate and keep up as well. But the Kings can't hit what they can't catch.

I'm afraid I'd start at the top, Lombardi did well but I think his era is over. Time for a new take in LA and blow this thing up, top down.

In the meantime, if you want to know how the playoff lottery works, there is nobody better to explain it than Oiler fans. We will even take that horseshoe out of our ass and loan it to you for this one.

Please do me a favour though. Someone, anyone, take that rat Tkachuks head off when you play the devil worshipping Flames next. Please. We will even try to beat the **** out of Kesler on Thursday night.

Kings have sunk so low, they don't even warrant a game story in the LA Times.

What, not even a "Whatevs." tweet?

Just like last year with Lecavalier, Iginla has been a solid addition to the team, and a real mentor to the rookies. Just sorry that Iginla didn't get traded to a real playoff contender. He was trying to do everything to get the team going tonight.

The Kings put in the effort to score, they just couldn't buy a goal going for a quarter at a garage sale.

I was watching the game and a few buddies from mine who are also hockey fans commented on the Kings speed and terrible contracts.

I have no problem re signing Iginla for a year but only if the Kings can rid of the Brown or Gabroik contracts.

Oilers fans asking us what's wrong with our team in PGTs.

This is the darkest timeline.

He knows a bit about that...

As an oiler fan (live in England but in Thailand right now). I think the big mistake was not getting another goalie sooner. I watched the game here (8am start) and when it was Iggy who had to step up and take of budiness? For me that was odd. The new guy had to step to Maroon? Kings need to make a lot of decisions. They got some young core guys that could get you started something good to kick off a rebuild properly. If the kings want to go that route.

If anyone is offended i do apologize.

It will be interesting to see what happens. The quick injury is the story of the year. Lack of proactive response second.

In my opinion the team has quit on Sutter. Could be wrong. But i am from the school if a team quits on the coach the players pay the price as well.

(For those asking why i watched a game at 8am in Bangkok. I am staying on khao San road)

Lewis got more ice time than Toffoli or Kempe despite his awful gaffe over skating the puck that directly led to a Kings goal. If Kempe would have done that he would have sat for a long stretch. Lewis is another of Sutter's Stiffs that is constantly rewarded for hard work with no results but when he makes a mistake there is no accountability. Like Dwight King before him Trevor Lewis should have been removed from the roster to prevent the coach from playing him too much.

Followed up back to back wins against Nashville and Washington by going 1-3-1 in their next 5 games. 6-8-3 since the bye week. 4-8-5 in regulation.
