Vote for one player, and post who you want to add to the next poll.

Only players who are eligible for the 2020 Calder trophy (so no Wagner, Amadio, etc). Calder eligibility is defined as:
- No older than 26 years old as of September 15th, 2019 (so Prokhorkin just makes the cut, if you wish to vote him in)
- Has not played in more than 25 games in one season or more than 6 games in two consecutive seasons. (so Matt Roy, at 25 games, just makes the cut if you want to vote him in)

Last player to be added at next poll (no nominations necessary, unless you want to nominate to no longer do these polls :sarcasm: )
Cole Kehler, G

Hey Guys,

Just curious, if Matt Luff were to be included in a rankings list like this, in what range would he sit do you think?

Thanks!

Personally, I have him below Grundstrom. He has a lot of similarities to Jonny Brodzinski, where his signature skill is a high end shot, but everything else needs overall improvement. But I am a lot higher on Luff than I was on Brodzinski.

Long story short, I'd have him in the top 10.

I'd have Luff probably around 15.

I don't personally see him as a higher prospect than Fagemo or even Thomas.

I like the Luff question. In fact I’d love an exercise after this ranking is over for the HFKings here to take the list and then superimpose into the rankings the young players and prospects including guys like Kemp’s, Luff, Amadio and Iafallo. This would give us a nice overall picture of the team in 3-4 years when Doughty is/should be still good but we’re on the rise again.

If we get a top center like Byfield this year or even better, our covert strikeforce is able to rescue Vilardi from the lair of the nefarious Jabba the Hutt and free him from the carbonite so that we can draft a defenseman, our center depth will be very good, our defensemen depth will be good and we’ll have Petersen and co for goaltending.

I actually see Luff as having Bernie Nichols potential. Then again, I'm slightly MAD!!!!

Some will be used as trade chips.

The hope is the Kings continue to improve with the kids developing. Once there is an opportunity to get back to being in the contender discussion, some of these pieces can be used to acquire player(s) that can help put the Kings in a favourable position to win a Cup. Fingers crossed.

I feel like Quick May still be relevant, Kopitar less so in a couple of years.

Yep, they won't all be Kings.

If we can go 25 remotely relevant prospects deep at this point, that's a lot of movement.

Yeah, if anything, I think this helps us determine the depth chart and possible trade pieces long term, going forward. Granted, a lot can happen in a short amount of time, but it's the offseason now, anyway!
